i wish we got to see them together
Zendaya and Tom Holland may not share any scenes in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming mythic action epic, The Odyssey, but she still made it a priority to support her real-life partner from behind the camera. In a newly published summer profile with ELLE, Zendaya shared that because their characters do not cross paths, she had the unique opportunity to simply sit back and observe his work. She portrays Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and war, while Holland stars as Telemachus, the fiercely loyal son of Odysseus. Because Athena’s divine narrative and Telemachus’s mortal struggles on land are kept structurally separate in Nolan’s script, the two never actually interact on screen. Still, reflecting on watching Holland command the massive, high-scale production, Zendaya warmly stated, “I could have cried, I was so proud.”
While the couple is separated by ancient Greek mythology in The Odyssey, audiences will not have to wait long to see them fully reunite on the big screen. The two are officially set to return in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which swings into theaters just a few weeks after Nolan’s epic releases in July 2026. Between starring in a monumental historical epic and returning to their iconic MCU roles, Zendaya and Tom Holland are perfectly positioned to completely dominate the global summer box office.
