“Be Still and Trust the Lord.”
There are moments in life when we feel completely trapped, facing an impossible situation with no clear way forward. Every path seems blocked, every option exhausted, and there’s nowhere to run. That was exactly where the Israelites found themselves—caught between Pharaoh’s relentless army behind them and the wide Red Sea ahead.
Fear could have easily consumed them, yet Moses spoke words of unwavering faith: “Do not be afraid. Stand firm… The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
It is during times like these that the only thing to do is stop striving and stand firm. Our natural instinct is to struggle, to fix everything ourselves, and to push against the circumstances. But sometimes, the bravest and most powerful act is to pause, to release the need for control, and to trust that God is already at work. Standing firm is not passivity—it’s faith in motion. It’s choosing to anchor our hearts in His promises and letting Him take the lead, giving us a free hand to move beyond what we see. When we stop focusing on the obstacles in front of us and start seeing through the eyes of faith, God’s power becomes evident, and His plan begins to unfold in ways we could never imagine.
The same God who delivered the Israelites from certain defeat is still at work in our lives today, orchestrating victories in ways that surpass our understanding. When life leaves us with no way out, no backup plan, and no strength of our own, we discover a profound truth: God fights for us. He clears the path. He moves in our circumstances when we surrender our need to control, giving us the freedom to walk confidently in His will.
Sometimes, the greatest breakthroughs come not from what we do, but from what we allow Him to do. Be still. Stand firm. Trust God with the battles you cannot fight, and watch Him move in ways only He can.
