During the shooting of one movie,
there was a little goat on the set.
The owner said hurry up and finish your scene because Sunday is my nephew's communion and we have to cook it on the grill!
I bought the animal tied it with a rope and brought it back with me to the five-star hotel.
I took it up to my room,
what a scandal!
That day I decided to leave the cinema and help the animals.
It was June 1973,
I was 38 years old.

My wife of 40 years is a Native American, and she has achieved great success without relying on “DEI”. She began working for minimum wage at a dental insurance company when she was 18 years old. She wanted to become an IT professional, so she got her GED, and then used the tuition reimbursement program that her employer offered. She received her associate’s degree in less than 3 years despite working full time and raising our son who was a toddler at that time. She was then offered her first programming job from her employer, and she excelled at it. She now is employed by a huge health insurance company as an IT professional who is a multi platform subject matter expert, and she earns $200,000 per year. She never accepted any monetary assistance that was offered to her due to her race. She wanted to succeed on her own, she did, and I couldn’t be prouder of her. Her story is a true American success story.🙂

Rebecca Ketcher Neugin was the last survivor of the Cherokees’ removal to Indian Territory. Pictured here with a small child in an undated photo, Neugin was a child herself in 1838 when she made the difficult walk from Georgia with her family. Her daughter, Kate Rackleff, shared in a 1937 interview for the Indian-Pioneer Papers: “Mother did not have the opportunity to attend school and always signed her name by mark; she helped with the family’s spinning and weaving, made her own dresses and helped to dry and preserve the fruits and berries for winter use.”
Neugin died in 1932.
