Just about every business owner has the same quiet fear before opening:

“W𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘂𝗽?"

You spend months preparing. Then the doors open… and you wait.

Most lackluster local business launches don’t happen because the concept is bad.

They happen because marketing started too late.

The strongest grand openings begin building momentum with an intentional pre-opening marketing strategy months before opening day.

More on this soon in my upcoming newsletter From Lease To Launch.

The biggest marketing mistake people make when opening a new business is simple:

They wait until the doors open to start marketing.

Some founders assume the timeline looks like this:
𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 → 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 → 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲.

But the businesses that open with lines out the door usually follow a different timeline:
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 → 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 → 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻.

Grand openings are not the starting line. They’re the continuation of a marketing runway.

I’m writing about this a lot more in my upcoming newsletter From Lease To Launch. Launch date for the newsletter is Tuesday, March 31st. See you there!
