Everything is sacred and divine, from the sacred water that is poured upon Mother Earth from the Creators goblet so we all may drink this divine elixir from this life giving source, to the Creators garden where we find the herbs from his plants and trees so we can heal our body and spirit with his good medicine.e
From the Creators medicine shield that surrounds and protects Mother Earth so we may breathe in his divine breath and keep our hearts beating, to Grandfather sun where the Creators sacred fire rages so we may feel his warmth, his beautiful light and his unconditional nurturing.
From the Creator's sacred hoop where he lets his creations the two legged, the four legged, the flyers and the swimmers give and share to each other so the great circle of life will stay strong on Mother Earth. Ekosi. πŸ™πŸ’•πŸ™

Tunkasila Frank Fools Crow: β€œThe Indian people must help the white people. If the white people do not learn how to relate to the Earth, they will perish from it.”
β€œWe were put here by Wakan Tanka to take care of the Earth. The white people do not understand this yet. If they do not learn it, they will destroy themselves and everything else.
β€œThe sacred knowledge was not given to us to keep for ourselves alone. It was given so that life could continue.”
Thomas E. Mails interviews with Frank Fools Crow, Wisdom and Power (1990)
Deksi Vine Deloria Jr.:
β€œThe Indian believes that life emerges out of the land and that humans must learn to live in harmony with the land. The modern technological world can survive only if it learns to do the same.”
God Is Red: (1973)
The Hurt of One is the Hurt of All, and the Healing and Honor of One is the Healing and Honor.

In 1924, Native Americans were granted United States citizenship through the Indian Citizenship Act, which was signed into law by President Calvin Coolidge.
The law declared that all Native Americans born in the United States were citizens, although many had already obtained citizenship through treaties, military service, or allotment policies. Despite this federal recognition, citizenship did not automatically guarantee full voting rights. Many states continued to block Native Americans from voting through legal loopholes such as residency requirements, poll taxes, and literacy tests. In some states, Native people were not able to vote freely until the 1940s or even later.
The act came partly in recognition of Native American military service during WW1, when thousands of Native men served in the armed forces. However, the law did not resolve broader issues such as tribal sovereignty, land rights, or economic inequality. Native nations remained distinct political entities with their own governments, and tensions continued between federal authority and tribal self determination.

An Open Letter from the Leonard Peltier Official Support Committee
Date: February 6, 2026
,
To: The Global Support Community, Allies, and Friends of Leonard Peltier

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the historic release of our brother, elder, and friend, Leonard Peltier, we find ourselves in a season of deep reflection and immense gratitude. After nearly five decades of wrongful incarceration, witnessing Leonard walk into
the sunlight on February 18, 2025, was a victory not just for one man, but for the spirit of Indigenous resistance and justice worldwide.
For years, the Leonard Peltier Official Support Committee has stood as a bulwark in the fight for his freedom. We have been honored to serve as his voice when he was silenced
and his shield when he was vulnerable. Today, as Leonard continues his journey of healing and adjustment back into society, we are writing to share an important transition in his
care.
Effective immediately, the Leonard Peltier Official Support Committee is announcing that we are putting the care and support of Leonard Peltier back into the hands of his family.
Throughout his life, Leonard has demonstrated a profound character defined by resilience, humility, and an unshakeable love for his people. He is a man of peace who stood for the sovereignty and dignity of all Indigenous nations, even at the cost of his own liberty. His leadership has never been about titles, but about service to the Creator and the generations to come.
Because of the depth of his character and the complexity of his health needsβ€”born from decades of neglect in the carceral systemβ€”we believe that his family, who knows him best, is the most suitable and qualified to oversee and commit to his wellbeing. There is no support more sacred than that of a family reuniting, and there is no care more specialized than that which is rooted in kinship and unconditional love. Over the past year, we have been profoundly grateful to witness his transition: to visit with him, to share meals, and to see him reconnect with the land of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa. Our role has changed from one of advocacy for release to one of quiet support for his domestic peace. We wish Leonard and his family continued success, health, and happiness on this journey toward full liberation and restoration. Please stay tuned for updates about our work advocating for the human rights of prisoners.

Native Americans, or the indigenous peoples of the Americas, are the pre-Columbian inhabitants of North and South America and their descendants. Those who live within the boundaries of the present-day United States are composed of numerous, distinct tribes, bands and ethnic groups, many of which survive as intact, sovereign nations.
Most authorities agree that the first evidence of people inhabiting North America indicates that they migrated here from Eurasia over 13,000 years ago, most likely crossing along the Bering Land Bridge, which was in existence during the Ice Age. However, some historians believe that people had migrated into the Americas much earlier, up to 40,000 years ago. These early Paleo-Indians spread throughout the Americas, diversifying into many hundreds of culturally distinct nations and tribes.
Application of the term β€œIndian” originated with Christopher Columbus, who, in his search for Asia, thought that he had arrived in the East Indies. However, there is considerable evidence in support of successful explorations which led to Norse settlement of Greenland, the L’Anse aux Meadows settlement in Newfoundland, and potentially others some 500 years prior to Columbus landing in the Bahamas. From the Native American aspect, many tribes’ oral histories indicate they have been living here since their genesis, as described by a wide range of creation myths.
By the time European adventurers arrived in the 15th century, scholars estimate that more than 50 million people were already living in the Americas. Of these, some 10 million lived in the region that would later become the United States. As time passed, these migrants and their descendants pushed south and east, adapting as they went. With these new arrivals came centuries of conflict and adjustment between Old and New World societies. Today, Native Americans account for about 1.5 percent of the United States population, many of whom continue to take pride in their ancestral traditions β€” still practicing the music, art, and ceremonies that took place many years ago..

We are proud to announce that an artist named Martin Espinosa has drawn a picture of Crazy Horse to the specifications that our family members handed down to us through our oral history. We wish to thank him for his patience in listening to us while we directed changes as the drawing progressed. Wopila Tanka Martin! Now we have an accurate likeness of our grandfather Crazy Horse!
