Centering the voices of youth from Skid Row and their power to make a difference.
VPE is proud to have played a role in bringing visibility to findings from the Skid Row Oral History Project, a collaboration by Social Model Recovery Systems and First 5 LA. The findings reveal how prevention-centered strategies are critical to reducing homelessness. An impactful panel of former youth who have experienced homelessness demonstrated the vital role that people with lived experience can play in shaping policy that matters. We're inspired by their stories and their dedication to supporting young people today who face similar challenges.
