A true legend is stepping down! Patricia Pérez, VPE Communications CEO, who helped expand the agency’s national reputation over the past three decades, announces her retirement.

We are also announcing a new ownership structure that positions the agency for continued growth and innovation. Maricela Cueva, president of the agency, and senior strategist Lorena Alamillo, will assume ownership of the agency, ushering in the next chapter of Latina leadership at the firm.

"Leading VPE Communications has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I'm incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished and grateful to the clients and partners who have trusted us with their communications needs,” said Patricia Pérez, retiring CEO. “I have every confidence that Maricela and Lorena will continue to build on our legacy while leading the agency into an exciting new era of engagement and impact."

Celebrating a life that began and ended the same day but whose legacy and influence will never fade.
Mexican icon and champion of women's empowerment, María Félix' words are as relevant today as ever (on either side of the border): "Protesten, quéjense, no se dejen, prepárense, hagan de su vida lo que ustedes desean y no lo que sus hombres les permitan ser. Amar y hacerse amar. No se conformen con poco. Este será, de ahora en adelante, un país de mujeres... ¡Ahora nos toca!"

Excellent piece by Gustavo Arrellano that speaks to the collective grief we're feeling.
"What’s especially popular is admirers posting pictures of themselves with her[Dolores Huerta] — at protests, during art gallery openings, in classrooms, even dancing. It’s the type of public outpouring one usually sees when a celebrity dies. Sadly, there is grief involved in people sharing their encounters with her right now.

Someone didn’t die. But something did."

We stand with Dolores Huerta and all survivors. It takes courage to speak out, especially in a society that has long silenced women and victims. As a firm rooted in social impact, we know that movements are built collectively and require accountability.
