1.Amazon opens second fulfillment center in Mexico
Amazon Mexico announced that it will open a second fulfillment center in Guadalajara, which is scheduled to be operational this year. The new center will be the size of five football fields and will be able to store more than 750,000 items. The expansion aims to improve delivery efficiency and expand coverage to better serve consumers across the country. Jalisco is one of the top five states in Mexico where Amazon has invested. Since its arrival, Amazon has invested more than 1.6 billion Mexican pesos in infrastructure and employee salaries, boosting the local economy and contributing an estimated more than 1.7 billion pesos to Mexico's gross domestic product.
2. Amazon launches New Year Promotion with New Year's Store
Amazon has launched a New Year's promotion offering consumers deep discounts on selected items in health, home, fashion and other categories to help meet New Year's goals. In addition, Amazon also launched a special "New Year's Store" to provide consumers with a one-stop shopping experience for products such as care, health, fitness and home. The New Year's Store features selected collections such as Top100+, Comfort Essentials, New from Amazon, items and organizations under $20, meal preparation, home improvement, and hot items under $20.
2.TikTok Shop expands collection categories and strengthens authenticity checks
TikTok Shop has announced 10 new collectibles categories that cover a wide range of collectibles, including sports memorabilia and entertainment collectibles, such as autographed jerseys and other autographed merchandise, in addition to comic books, fan publications, and art books.
According to TikTok Shop's statement, these new categories will ensure that goods sold on the platform are genuine by strengthening authenticity checks. In order to enhance consumer trust, the platform requires merchants to provide detailed information on the condition and authenticity of goods, and conducts strict audits on appraisers to prevent counterfeit goods from entering the market and enhance consumer trust in the platform.
