At TCAA, when we think about Memorial Day, we don't think of it as a transition to summer or a time to go shopping and grab deals. It's about gratitude. Celebrations that include a toast to those who sacrificed their lives for ours in this blessed country.
We are living in scary times, when the future may be uncertain for some, and we believe they ask of us something deeper than a moment of recognition. It asks us to remember the human cost of freedom.
Behind every flag placed at a gravesite is an unfinished story: a son, daughter, spouse, friend, or parent who gave everything, believing future generations would have the opportunity to live, dream, speak freely, and pursue purpose without fear.
Their sacrifice is not about politics or headlines. It was about love of country, devotion to others, and the belief that some things are worth protecting at any cost. And when living in uncertain times, this becomes more important is seems. We become more cognizant.
As leaders, entrepreneurs, large corporate enterprises, and citizens, we honor them best by how we live: with courage, integrity, compassion, empathy, understanding, and a commitment to serve something greater than ourselves.
Today, may we carry their legacy forward not only in remembrance, but in the choices we make, the people we uplift, and the gratitude we show for the freedoms too often taken for granted.
We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful!
