WORD is a bootstrapped, mom founded and parent run company. We know first hand the importance of and exactly what happens when someone is forced into unpaid leave or worse, forced to work through postpartum. It’s unacceptable, inhumane and as the “Leader of the Free World,” a purposeful attack on women and moms.

Today we join and over 60 businesses in closing our doors to send a message to Congress: It’s time to pass paid leave. This Women’s History Month we’re taking a symbolic look at what could happen if more women exit the workforce and businesses close without the protections of federal paid leave. A federal paid family and medical leave program would keep more women and caregivers in the workforce, would lead to greater gender and racial equity, and would make our businesses, our families, and our economy stronger.
