Reposting this from the October Top Teens of America event — what a joy to teach this workshop! 💫

This iPhone Documentary Workshop was an idea I dreamt up for teens to experience every phase of filmmaking — story development, production, and post — in under 48 hours.

Thanks to the incredible partnership between Top Teens of America - Augusta, 2021 - 2025 Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. - Augusta Chapter (that’s me!), that dream came to life.

A huge thank you to Terrence Williams of Indiegrip.com, who graciously opened his facility, gave my students a full tour, and inspired them with lighting demos and behind-the-scenes insights.

And to my dear friend Lester Lowry Mustard Seed Video Productions who guided the students through editing and let them get hands-on with their own films — your generosity and patience made all the difference.

Watching these teens form a mini writers’ room, shoot their own stories, and then edit them into short documentaries — all in one weekend — was pure joy. They poured their hearts into it, and I couldn’t be prouder.

I love teaching the craft and business of storytelling — and I can’t wait to do more of this around the world. 🌍
