I asked my followers what the hardest part about being a social media manager is…
and honestly, the answers were way too real.
Justifying your prices.
Saying no.
Finding clients.
Building strategies.
Getting content from clients on time.
Feeling like you always have to prove yourself.
Burnout from doing literally everything.
And the reason I wanted to make this post is because if you’re struggling with any of these things, you’re not the only one.
I’ve been there too.
I’ve undercharged. I’ve struggled to say no. I’ve had clients miss deadlines and still expect everything to happen on time. I’ve felt like I had to overexplain my value. I’ve taken on too much. I’ve learned a lot of things the hard way.
Being a social media manager is not just making cute posts, writing captions, and knowing what’s trending.
It’s also learning how to run the business side of things.
Pricing your offers. Setting boundaries. Managing client expectations. Creating a process. Knowing what costs extra. Protecting your time. Handling red flags. Finding clients. Explaining your value without begging people to understand it.
And no one teaches you all of that when you’re first starting.
That’s why I created my social media manager guide. I put my almost decade of experience into one guide to help you with the parts of being a social media manager that people do not talk about enough, pricing, discovery calls, boundaries, client red flags, proposals, processes, emergencies, and what I wish I knew sooner.
