Readers often tell us they read Loudonville Neighbors with a cup.

For many, the morning doesn’t start until they have it.

Here in Upstate New York we’re fortunate to not only have many independent coffee shops and houses to choose from but also Coffee Brewers.

This list isn’t exhaustive by no means exhaustive but a good place to start.

Let us know where you’ve been for your beans and what’s next on your list.

Readers often tell us they read Loudonville Neighbors while they sit with one.

For many, the morning isn’t complete and the day doesn’t begin until they’ve had their first cup.

Here in the Capital Region, we’re fortunate to not only have a variety of independent coffee shops and houses but brewers.

This list isn’t exhaustive by any means but a good place to start. Let us know below if there are any coffee brewers you’d like to see included.

Save the locations and let us know which ones you’ve been to and what’s next on your list?

Strong in the gym.
Strong in life.

When Nora Matthew founded Her Strength Studio, the philosophy was simple: the program should fit the woman - not the other way around.

Wherever a woman is in her life's journey - when energy shifts, routines change, or strength needs to be reclaimed - the program adapts to her.

In a small group setting built specifically for women, unshakeable confidence is built through strength and resilience.

Often times we loose sight of the meaning of the holidays that we celebrate, big and small.

For Valentine's Day Drue Sanders shared her perspective with us. The origins of feast days to how we celebrate today.

In the end, love is less about the gesture and more about what we choose to hold onto.

As the Capital Region Goes Red, attention turns to the moments and stories that make heart health tangible. Not as an abstract cause, but as something carried by real people and families.

Last evening, Maria College President Lynne Ortale led the 2026 Capital Region Glows Red Ceremony as the campus was illuminated red in support of heart health and the work of the American Heart Association.

Among the voices shared was Erin Fortin, who spoke about her experience as a heart health survivor after suffering a stroke. Joined by her husband Brian, and their children, her story offered a reminder that heart health is not theoretical. It is lived, at times privately, within families and across years.

Throughout the month, more than 30 buildings, businesses, and landmarks across the region will glow red as visible markers of ongoing efforts in research, education, and prevention. In Glowing Red, they stand as signals of care, awareness, and the shared work of protecting what matters most.

If you are wearing red today or see an organization or local business participating, please feel free to message us directly or send a photo. We look forward to sharing moments throughout the month as the Capital Red Goes Red ❤️

We're on the verge of February.

The snow is still high, the temperatures even lower. Our January feature family showed us that northeast winters don't have to leave you cold when you can hold each other close.

Rather than sit this one out, the Maoiriello Family chose, or agreed, to step outside. Surrounded by natural beauty and historic buildings of the Shaker Heritage Society their warmth for each other, as well as their four legged family members, shines through on a day that could have been otherwise been described as bitter, cold or overcast.

For some, art may not feel like a necessity. But the freedom of expression, creativity and enjoyment art brings benefits not only the artist and gallery goers.

It enriches our landscape, shapes conversations, broadens the collective narrative and brings us together in unexpected ways.

Here’s to the visual and culinary artists, vintners, brewers, distillers and creatives that delight our taste buds and add color to our world, and to the arts organizations that continue to make our region feel alive.
