History in the making, as the 46th edition of The Kentucky Derby Festival 2026 poster rolled off the press this morning at Welch Printing Company. This is the first poster to be printed on our New HP Indigo 18k digital press.

Local artist/designer Shae Goodlett designed this year's poster, which features many of the derby festival events, in a unique, nostalgic, and vintage look.

This marks the 5th consecutive year of printing the Kentucky Derby Festival poster. Brian Houchens, owner of Welch Printing, said, "Our entire team is honored to be a part of this ongoing tradition here in Louisville, Kentucky."

A New Chapter for Leon Geary!
Celebrating 26 years – a Well-Earned Retirement
Today we laughed, we joked, we reminisced and said a bittersweet “see you later” to a gentleman who was a staple at Welch Printing Company for many years. Leon joined Welch on October 11, 1999. What started out as a job, turned into a career as our lead cutter operator. When there was a difficult job that needed attention to detail, Leon was the man. His willingness and can-do attitude will be greatly missed.
When we asked Leon what he looks forward to most about retirement he said with a big smile, “I want to drive down I-65 in the left lane at 20 mph.” He also is looking forward to spending more time doing the things he loves - fishing, playing pickleball, racing RC cars and planes, joining the coffee club at McDonalds, and spending more time with his grandson, his wife and family.
We wish you the best in retirement, and all hope to honk at you on I-65 while driving 20!
