The Ford Fathom is an all-new midsize electric pickup truck scheduled to arrive in 2027. It will be the first vehicle produced on Ford’s new Universal Electric Vehicle Platform, which was developed to support a future family of affordable electric vehicles.

Ford designed the platform with a strong emphasis on reducing complexity, improving manufacturing efficiency and creating more usable space for passengers and cargo. Rather than adapting an existing gas-powered vehicle platform, Ford developed this electric vehicle architecture from the ground up.

The Fathom will feature four doors, a traditional pickup bed and an additional front storage compartment, commonly called a frunk. Ford also projects that the truck will offer more passenger volume than the latest Toyota RAV4, giving it the potential to serve as both a practical pickup and a comfortable everyday family vehicle.
