Texas Corn Producers

Texas Corn Producers Resolving challenges & creating economic opportunities for Texas corn farmers through promotion, education, research & advocacy.

Texas Corn Producers (TCP) serves the state’s corn farmers through two organizations: Texas Corn Producers Board (TCPB) and Texas Corn Producers Association (TCPA). TCPB is a statewide board funded by a voluntary checkoff program. The program focuses on research, education, and promotion to further the corn industry in Texas, and to create better marketing opportunities for farmers. TCPA is where

advocacy meets action. TCPA is funded by farmer members. Working at the local, state and federal levels, TCPA members come together to ensure the important work of farmers is seen from the fields of Texas to the halls of Congress. TCP’s mission is to be a trusted resource that resolves challenges and creates economic opportunities for Texas corn farmers.

Farmers are fed up with the fertilizer industry's unchecked pricing power, and for good reason. This is an issue we've been working on for years, and this week marked an important step forward.

We're proud to join major farm organizations from 18 states at FED UP, a conversation with the Chair of the Federal Trade Commission, to deliver a unified message: while fertilizer companies post record profits, farmers continue to face mounting financial pressures and farm closures.

It's time for greater transparency and accountability in the fertilizer industry. We appreciate the FTC for listening to farmers' concerns, and we're hopeful this conversation is the beginning of meaningful action to shine a light on pricing practices that have disadvantaged producers for far too long. In the latest corn leafhopper update, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension entomologist David Kerns says pressure remains fairly stable, with little movement beyond South Texas.

Some stressed fields are seeing 5–6 leafhoppers per plant, but aggressive treatment has helped keep infestations isolated. Most Central Texas corn has tasseled and is largely out of the susceptible stage.

Key takeaway for growers: keep scouting and watch for weather systems moving north from the south, especially if you have second-crop corn.

The ripple effect of ag exports is massive. U.S. food and agriculture exports generate $963.76 billion in total economic output, according to Feeding the Economy.

That’s not just demand for farmers, it’s support for transportation, processing, equipment and more. Trade agreements like USMCA help keep that momentum going. Learn more: feedingtheeconomy.com
