Wouldn't it be nice for employers to compete for you rather than the other way around? That's the reality for software developers.

CIO magazine predicts (not surprisingly) that the software developer shortage will continue in 2016 and that "firms in hospitality, finance, insurance, retail and agriculture will struggle to find great programmers, and they will have to redouble their efforts at marketing and selling themselves as great places to work in order to attract the talent they need to compete"
