The groundUP is hiring in their DFW shop (our shop is located in Terrell)

We are looking for a LABORER/ FIELD ASSISTANT.

Your responsibilities will include:
> Assisting with pavement marking and layout
> Site repairs for Asphalt & Concrete
> Field installations for signs, posts, bollards, wheel stops (including TRUCK sized curbs) and related services;
> Pressure Washing
> Assisting with all site maintenance related projects and tasks, both in the field and in the shop
> office/ shop related tasks, as deemed necessary by me, my field manager, or senior staff members.

STARTING PAY: $15 to $18 PER HOUR.

This is a PART TIME, HOURLY position. Due to the nature of the services that we provide, there will be no regular set hours. Your schedule will vary week-to-week based on the specific projects on hand; and based on specific duties that need to be accomplished.

Time schedules for projects are not constrained by the conventions of normal business hours. As such, projects may start late or extend well into the night; and WILL include weekends days. Occasionally there will be travel out of town to work on projects.

We anticipate that our employees will be available for work whenever there is work to be done. Work needs to be completed – regardless of time of day or day of the week. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A 9-5 JOB, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU.

This is a great example of why you should ALWAYS black-out old layouts/ patterns before sealcoating when the layout is changing. (We put the yellow lines down about 7 years ago - not sure who did the next 2 or 3 generations of lines.....)

the groundUP is looking for a part-time bookkeeper to work in our office 3 days a week (20+ hours/ week).

Responsibilities include:
> Accounts Payable
> Accounts Receivable (everything except invoicing)
> Payroll (every 2 weeks)
> Payroll Taxes (every 2 weeks)
> Sales Tax (monthly) - for both Illinois & Texas
> Running P/L Reports and Balance Sheets (monthly)
> Reconciling Bank Account & Credit Card Statements
> End of Year reports and transmitting account information to our accountant (annually)
> Receiving Inventory and Tracking

This position also requires the following H/R & General Office tasks:
> Tracking/ Maintaining Employee Vacation/ Time Off reports
> Filing Certified Payroll documents via internet
> Maintaining Insurance information (health & dental, as well as general liability, worker's comp & automotive)
> Providing information for Liability & Workers Comp audits (annually).
> Filing of Invoices, Bills, Insurance Documents, Etc.

Minimum of 2 years experience working in bookkeeping or related experience is required
WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF QUICKBOOKS IS MANDITORY

Schedule is flexible (with a few exceptions).
This is an ON - SITE position in our Machesney Park facility (no remote work).

PAY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE ($23 - $25/ hour starting pay with review after 90 days).

Congratulations to the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois for being one of our 2025 Earning Our Stripes winners! They do so much to help Rockford and the surrounding areas. For those might not know what they do, CFNIL provides grants to charitable organizations and scholarships to local students. They serve four counties and invest over $4 million every year into the communities of Northern Illinois through grants and scholarships.
