MDH Chief Nursing Officer Out, CEO Given 60 Day Notice
MACOMB, IL – After only a year on the job, McDonough District Hospital's (MDH) Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Wayne Laramie is out, effective immediately, and CEO/President Bill Murdock is off the hospital's payroll in 60 days.
The Board of Directors discussed the move in a closed session during Monday's Board of Directors meeting, and voted on the measures, in a motion that did not reveal the details of the discussion or decision, when returning back to open session.

MACOMB, Ill. – The McDonough District Hospital Board of Directors announced Tuesday (May 19) an update with the hospital’s leadership team.
Wayne Laramie, RN, BSN, NEA-BC who had been MDH’s Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer since April 2025 is no longer serving in that role. An interim Chief Nursing Officer will be named in the immediate future.
The MDH Board also announced that President & Chief Executive Officer Bill Murdock will transition out of his role in 60 days. A search for a new President & Chief Executive Officer will begin immediately. Murdock and the Board will work together to ensure a smooth and effective transition as a new CEO is identified.
Murdock joined MDH in April 2019 as Vice President/Chief Financial Officer then later was promoted to President & CEO in December 2023 (first as interim then full-time).
