"Though reminiscent of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Tales from Wakken Wood stands on its own alongside the literary giants of the fantasy genre that came before it. While composed of a world and creatures separate from anything one might read in Tolkien or Lewis, readers will encounter that same familiar feeling of wonder and adventure."🕊

Continuing our series on Lewis, Tolkien, and the Catholic imagination, we're proud to publish Christy Rogers' wonderful review of E.P. Cowley's Tales from Wakken Wood on the blog: https://palomaandfig.com/wakkenwood/

On this week's episode of A Resounding Yes! Podcast we welcome back Kaylee Sewell Stoll to host a conversation with writer E.P. Cowley. This discussion continues our series on Tolkien, Lewis, and the Catholic imagination.🕊

E.P. Cowley is a retired home-schooling mother living in southern British Columbia. She holds a masters in English literature from Portland State University. Her debut novel, Tales from Wakken Wood, is available from Ignatius Press. Described as a dramatic and delightful saga for young readers, Tales from Wakken Wood is a story of courage, prudence, faith, and temptation reminiscent of fantasy works by Tolkien and Lewis.🙏

At the foot of the Cross, Christ entrusted His mother to John and to all of us: “Behold, your mother.”🌹

Mary is still interceding, sheltering, and teaching us how to receive Christ with humility and love.

🤍Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.
