Durango Devo turned 20 this year! In 2006, my friend Chad Cheeney and Sarah Tescher partnered up to start a youth development cycling program, which they called Durango Devo. Twenty years on, they have a lot to be proud of - thousands of kids through their program, beloved community status, and a who's who roster of current elite athletes on the global cycling scene. There's no doubt that Devo has been a good thing for Durango and its kids. For the birthday bash this weekend, Devo partnered up with Durango Mesa Park to open the under-construction area to riders for the weekend. I spent most of my time up there riding, but here are a few shots I took during down time.

It's been two years since this night. Although I was setup and waiting, and patient enough to stick it out long past the time any reasonable person would have called it a wash, I feel so fortunate to have been there to witness the northern lights from the southland. A once-in-a-lifetime moment for this guy.

Spent the weekend at the inaugural High Desert Bike Festival in Dolores. A super fun time with jumps, music, camping, clinics, and lots of bike polo for my crew. Hardly even broke out the camera, and then only for a few terribly-lit shots of after-dark jump action. I really needed a flash for these, but a couple came out ~okay anyway. My friend Max throwing down over the fire!

I know, I know, Facebook/Instagram want me to post "reels" to suck you into more time on their platform watching garbage. Sorry Zuckerberg, I'd rather post beautiful scenes from the real world to brighten someone's day. Simple. I like that.

Catching the gold rush. I shot these three with anamorphic cinema lenses - manual focus only, strange to compose with through a viewfinder, and a bit clunky - but I like the results! The characteristic anamorphic flare from the sun is unique to this type of lens.

Whether the show's from Colorado aspens or Indiana hardwoods, autumn colors are always worth stopping for.

Rain down in Durango, so I wouldn't be surprised if this scene from last week is getting a good coat of snow right now. This time of year always leaves me with the sense of not having spent enough time above treeline before the long winter sets in.
