Colder weather always gets me feeling crafty. This week while I'm working on a few branding ideas I'm getting ready for the arts and craft showing at The V - VFW Post 1318. Stop by the VFW Arts and Craft Fair on Saturday AM if you are looking for some gifts and more! So far I have some peppermint chapsticks, lavender bath salts, essential oil roll-ons, muscle cream, wood burning pieces, and some jewelry pieces. I hope that you can stop by! 😍

How does creativity and ideas come to you?
Does it feel like a current — sometimes quiet and still, sometimes rushing and alive? It tends to come when there’s both space and connection: space to breathe, and connection to something meaningful — an image, a feeling, a sound, a question, or a memory.

Or often, it starts as a subtle spark: a color that stands out, a phrase that repeats in my mind, the way light moves through trees. If I give that spark attention without forcing it, it grows into form — words, images, or ideas begin to gather around it.

It can come through movement and rhythm — walking, listening to music, or even organizing things — when the body is quietly busy and the mind is free to wander.

And nature also has a way of opening creative channels — it speaks in textures, sounds, scents, and quiet patterns that invite imagination to flow. There’s something grounding and freeing about it at the same time — the steady rhythm of wind or water, the changing light, the feeling of being part of something vast, but familiar.

When does creativity tend to find you — is it in stillness, in motion, or in those unexpected moments between?

If anyone is interested, there will be a lot of fun things for gifts: Oils, Art, Jewelry, Afghans, towels and more... We hope to see you all at the Arts and Craft show on Saturday Nov. 15. Stop by the Ski Lane VFW on November 15th, 9-1! 💕 I will have some natural muscle relief cream, oil roll-ons, maybe some photos and soap, and not sure what else yet. Cam Canaan will have some awesome candles! Elizabeth Moore will have some essential oils, Jenny Lynn should be doing photography, and Jennifer Bull will be there also!

My Story

From inspirational art to business identity and print design, I am always focused on exceeding expectations! I grew up in a beautiful small town in the hills of West-Central Wisconsin loving drawing, photography, animals and nature at a young age. Walking around in the woods was always something to look forward to, whether it is enjoying the colors of the scenery and stillness by myself, or being with family and friends, watching the sunset.

I always remember having pencils or markers out as a child and loved to draw animals. I took everything to another level when I went to college at UW-Stout, where I received my BA in Art and Graphic Design. In my art classes, I shied away from painting and started to really enjoy photography and drawing the human body more. Then I got kind of bored with drawing on white paper, and got really addicted to drawing in reverse. Because of that, visually, now I tend to look at the light in images and not the dark.

Trying to capture the moment and taking it to another level is what I strive for. Even though I feel like it is difficult to express how you feel in any piece of art, it is usually never the same when you are looking at something in comparison to being there in real life. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling to new places and enjoying the outdoors.
