I recently reached out to someone to schedule a virtual coffee date. She replied, “If you just want to catch up, great. But I’m not in a headspace to think about insurance.”

😕

I replied to assure her of a few things:

1️⃣ Of course, I want to catch up! True, it had been a while since we spoke but I think she’s a rad lady and I saw she was up to some great things.

2️⃣ Times are crazy and humans are wired for connection. Who wouldn’t want to see a friendly face right now, even if just through a screen?

3️⃣ I have nothing to sell. The term “sales” alone makes my skin crawl a bit. Yes, I’ve switched careers. Yes, I’d love to tell you why. But I have no reason to believe you need (or want) to work together.

📣 I wish I could shout this from the rooftops: I don’t want people avoiding my messages because they’re afraid they‘ll have to dodge an awkward conversation. I’m not on a mission to sell you anything. My mission is for us to just talk.

So...whatdya say? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Zoom date? Grab coffee? Or a cocktail? I’d love to catch up.

Already in declining health, could COVID cut social security's remaining years short?

A new analysis from the Bipartisan Policy Center shows how much the current downturn caused by the coronavirus could hit Social Security.

Time and I have a love-hate relationship and I can relate to each of these 9 time thieves. But can we agree that tech trouble should be added to the list?!

Lead with love, not fear. It seems obvious. But in these uncertain times, a little pep talk might help.

There are two types of leader: those that lead with fear and those that lead with love. The former is unsustainable and exhausting and the latter is enjoyable and liberating.

You know I'm a music nut. One of the things I love about jazz is that to be great at improvisation, you need focus, discipline and structure. Businesses looking for ways to respond to the pandemic can learn a little something from that.

To be agile and adaptive during periods of uncertainty, leaders must first put in the work to be disciplined, focused and structured.
