Yesterday, I stepped out with Victoria, our Marketing Director, Gina, one of our Account Managers, and a very special guest: Victoria’s mom, Monica, for a little “Take My Mom to Work Day.” ❤️

We walked a few miles through Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, surrounded by towering redwoods, Japanese gardens, ponds, waterfalls, and roses. A beautiful setting to slow down, get inspired, and connect.

Then we headed to Casa Córdoba just a mile away and the perfect combo to the gardens, and one of our favorite agency clients, for Spanish tapas, cocktails, live guitar serenades, and the kind of patio conversations you wish could last all night. 🍷🎸

As CEO of Vivid Candi, days like this remind me that building a great team means making room for authentic human connection. The shared smiles, stories, and memories build trust that carries into everything we create together.

Yesterday’s visit to San Pedro Fish Market was nothing short of a first-class experience. Honestly, after the hospitality, the food, and the incredible behind-the-scenes access, I felt like I should have been paying them. I’m truly honored that they’re even considering Vivid Candi for their marketing.

I had the opportunity to spend time with Henry, Mike, and Carl, and enjoy an absolutely massive seafood tray with them at their Long Beach location on Alamitos Bay. Calamari, white fish, shrimp, and so much more—it was fresh, delicious, completely over the top, and exactly what my appetite needed. 🦐🐟🔥

After an incredible meal, I toured the entire property, took a ton of photos, and got a real look at the scale and energy of the operation. Then I headed to their San Pedro location—and nothing could have prepared me for what I saw.

This place is mind-blowingly huge. It seats around 2,000 guests and may very well be one of the largest restaurants on the West Coast, if not the entire country. You genuinely cannot appreciate the scale until you see it with your own eyes.

The drive there was an experience in itself—through beautiful Long Beach, across the bridges, surrounded by ocean views, towering cargo ships, and the bustling waterfront—before arriving right on the water in San Pedro beside a massive destroyer. Absolutely badass.

Then I got to see the operation in action, with more than 150 team members bringing the experience to life every day. Watching the teamwork, precision, and hospitality behind such an enormous operation was truly inspiring.

Henry, Mike, and Carl—thank you for the incredible hospitality, the unforgettable food, the behind-the-scenes tour, and the wonderful conversation. It was a privilege to spend time with you, and I’m excited to continue the conversation about what we can create together.

And seriously… put San Pedro Fish Market on your list. The seafood is phenomenal, the waterfront setting is unforgettable, and the sheer size of the operation is something you simply won’t believe until you experience it for yourself. I know I didn’t.

Some moments remind you just how meaningful this journey has been.

Today, we got the surprise of a lifetime when Jocelyn, one of our interns from 15 years ago, walked through the doors of the Vivid Candi office completely out of the blue. 🇫🇷✨

Jocelyn traveled all the way from France to intern with us for three months back then, and today he returned—with his girlfriend, her daughter, and her cousin—to reconnect and catch up. We headed over to Prima Cantina for an incredible lunch, great cocktails, and even better conversation.

Seeing how much life has happened in 15 years was truly extraordinary. One of the things that amazed us most was Jocelyn’s English. The first time he came to California, he barely spoke a word. Today, we spent hours laughing, sharing stories, and reminiscing as if no time had passed.

Moments like these are what make this journey so rewarding. Marketing may be what we do, but the relationships we build along the way are what matter most.

Jocelyn, thank you for surprising us and reminding us that the impact of mentorship, opportunity, and genuine human connection can last a lifetime. It was such a joy seeing you again, and we hope it won’t be another 15 years before our paths cross.
