Google's AI, Gemini, was tricked into providing a fake summary in Gmail.

How?
By hiding commands in white font or zero-size text.
Gemini reads them.
You don’t.

Then it spits out a fake “security alert” that looks real.
Fake phone numbers.
Phishing links.

No weird links.
No attachments.
No typos.
None of the usual red flags.

That’s what makes it dangerous.

I’m still taking it all in.This workshop wasn’t just another event for me, it was personal. My first one fully in Spanish. I was nervous. Would I stumble over my words? Would I connect? Would it feel natural?

But what happened that night was beyond what I imagined.The room was full. People showed up ready. They asked smart, meaningful questions. They stayed late. They laughed with me. They saw me.

And I saw them, we connected.

I’ve done plenty of workshops, but this one nourished something deeper. As a Latina, being able to give back to my community in this way… in our language… with our shared understanding… It felt like coming home.

To everyone who attended:
Thank you for reminding me why I do this.Thank you for your warmth, your stories, your presence.You made me feel like I belonged.This wasn’t just a workshop. It was a moment.And I’ll carry it with me. 💛
