Despite the French name, the family of coffee frappe is Greece. Not so long ago, in 1957, at a trade show in Thessaloniki, one of Nestle's employees decided to make himself an instant coffee-milk drink that his company presented. However, he could not find boiling water. Then he poured cold water over the powder and sugar. After a long and intensive mixing, the first frappe in history was obtained.

History looks
It is believed that the glase recipe was born in Austria: at the end of the 19th or the beginning of the 20th century. It so happened that one of the capital's cafes ran out of cream, and the visitor was served Viennese coffee with ice cream. The guest liked the drink so much that since then he ordered only such coffee.

Americano was invented by Italians who faced an influx of American soldiers during World War II. American soldiers ordered coffee, but Italian espresso was not to their liking: the cup was too small, and the taste was too rich.
