From the heart ~ MY WHY!
Put a Cap on Breast Cancer™ was fueled by my faith with purposeful intentions in 2007 when the wife of an industry colleague was diagnosed with breast cancer.
At the time, I was a new mom and had never known anyone to have been diagnosed with breast cancer. FOX Sports was one of my clients of which I held the privileged merchandise license for all intellectual properties within the FOX Sports family.
There was nothing I wanted more than to desperately do something where my creative blessings of loving what I do and doing what I love … designing cool, lifestyle, on-trend branded apparel and CAPS that were sold at venue and on line.
The next day, I reached out to my long-time childhood friend who was a copy writer and told her what I was looking for to create … a campaign for at venue and on-line sales of hats, headwear ~ CAPS.
When I said the word 'CAPS', she immediately said, ‘how about Put a Cap on Breast Cancer™?’. We screamed, laughed and cried in joy.
…and just like that, Put a Cap on Breast Cancer™ and Put a Cap on Cancer™ became our WHY and were trademarked.
