Another one for the October calendar! Manistee Elks Lodge #250 has a full day of Halloween fun planned for October 31st — kids, adults, costumes, food, live music and prizes.

And yep… OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

Now the real question is… what the heck are S&T dressing up as? 🤔😂
We feel like asking the public could be dangerous. 😂👻

Wellllll… apparently there is a drink called a Broken Down Golf Cart. 😂🛺

Obviously S&T now feel it is our civic responsibility to investigate.

Well apparently S&T caused quite the ruckus in Manistee last night. 😂

We had dinner at the Hampton and decided to sit outside by the fire because it was seriously the PERFECT night. Beautiful out, quiet, just hanging out… other than the darn skunk that kept making an appearance. 😂

Then three people from out of state came out after the James Taylor tribute concert and joined us. So there we sat, five middle-aged people around a fire, talking and laughing for a couple hours with people we’d never met before.

Cute little night, right?

UNTIL THIS MORNING. 😂

We wake up to find out there was a dispatch call about loud noise and commotion by the campfire.

Apparently someone went to check out this wild scene and basically reported back…

No problems here. Just two old women sitting by the fire.

I’m sorry.

TWO OLD WOMEN?!?! 😂😂😂

First of all, RUDE. 😂😂

Second, apparently S&T has officially made the Manistee crime map for sitting by a fire and making new friends.

We’ve really made it, T!! 😂

Another S & T Cart Girls adventure in the books! 😂

Today’s travels took us to Watson's Manistee Chrysler

Fun fact you may not know — my new Jeep came from Watson’s. She’s currently answering to “Dolly,” but I’m still not convinced that’s her forever name. 😂

I seriously had such a great experience buying her there. Awesome sales crew, attentive, easy to work with, and just a fun experience all around.

And of course a BIG shoutout to Raven, my salesman, who I highly recommend… even though apparently now he runs when he sees me coming. 😂

Thanks for being such a good sport and playing along with our shenanigans today, Raven! We had a freaking blast!

And yes… today the “cart” was a Jeep. 😂

First—HOLY CRAP. THANK YOU! 💗 We’ve picked up more than 75 new followers just this week, and we are so happy you found us! Apparently you people enjoy our little Manistee adventures and nonsense as much as we enjoy making them. 😂 Welcome to S & T Cart Girls!

Speaking of nonsense…S & T are heading out on a few little field trips this afternoon because apparently sitting still is not something we’re very good at. 😂

And there’s actually quite a bit happening around Manistee this weekend!

Okay, apparently a LOT of you are our kind of people. 😂👻

After seeing how intrigued everyone was by the haunted library event coming up, we figured some of you might not know that S has been sharing a little spooky series over on The SunShack & Co Tanning, Wellness page too.

For the past five weeks, The SunShack Files has been sharing real stories about some of the unexplained things that have happened inside that old downtown building…including a few things caught on camera. 😳

No, this isn’t us trying to convince you the place is haunted. 😂 It’s just one of those we’ll tell you what happened and YOU decide situations.

This week’s story is a GOOD one. And if spooky old Manistee buildings are your thing, you might want to go back and read the other files too. 👻

⚠️ CAUTION: “THE SUNSHACK FILES ⚠️ WEEK 5.”

If ghost stories freak you out easily, you might want to keep scrolling. 😂 And before we begin, there is NOTHING harmful, threatening or scary happening at The SunShack. Nobody has been hurt, and nobody has been chased down River Street by a ghost. 😂 These are simply weird little things that have happened inside our very old downtown building that we cannot explain.

Earlier this week, one of our longtime clients sent me a private message about something that happened during her visit. I’m keeping her identity AND the rooms involved completely anonymous because I still need you people to come in here. 😂

She has been coming to The SunShack since we opened and always brings her AirPods and listens to music from her iPhone during her services. Totally normal. Except this time, her music kept stopping. She’d get it playing, it would stop, she’d check her phone, and at one point her volume had somehow been turned all the way down. She turned it back up and kept going.

Then it happened again.

Different service. Different area of the salon. Music starts, music stops, volume is down again. She gets everything working and moves on to another service…and then something else starts acting strange. Something that normally stays exactly where it’s supposed to be suddenly wouldn’t.

At this point she’s thinking, WTF. 😳 Her husband thinks she’s crazy. 😂

She came back again this week and guess what? NOTHING. Everything worked completely normally.

Now here’s the part that made me go, wait a damn minute…🤔

This is the SAME CLIENT who was standing inside The SunShack & Co Tanning, Wellness last spring when she and another person watched a product sitting on a perfectly level surface suddenly fly off and hit the floor. Not slide off. Not tip over. FLY off. We still don’t have an explanation for that one either.

So when she messaged me and asked, “Is this the ghost?”

Ma’am. I HAVE QUESTIONS TOO. 😂👻

Listen, technology glitches. Equipment can do weird things. There could be perfectly boring explanations for every single thing that happened that day. But all of it happening during ONE visit, to the SAME woman who witnessed our unexplained flying-product incident last spring?

I don’t know, people. You decide.

Another S&T Cart Girls adventure! 🛺🐾

A couple weeks ago, T and I stopped in to meet our new friends at Forest & Fur Co., located at 390 River Street, Suite 106 — and there is WAY more going on here than we realized!

Dog grooming? Yep.
Nail trims? Yep.
Birds? I’m pretty darn sure she told us YES. 🐦😂
Other animals? Probably… but S apparently did not take adequate notes on this field trip. 🤦‍♀️😂

So if your pet has fur, feathers, toenails or an attitude, contact Forest & Fur Co. directly and ask what species she works with and what services she offers. 🐈🐈‍⬛🐶🦮🐩🐰🐾🦜🐱🙀

BONUS: Her husband has a business too! Roofing and, I think, siding — once again, S was apparently just there for moral support and not information retention. 😂 I DO remember hearing about a pretty darn good warranty, though! So definitely ask them about that too. 🙌🏻

They recently uprooted their family and made Manistee home, after vacationing here!! Cute kiddo too! The whole place just feels like a family affair. ❤️ Plus, there are goodies to shop inside, which obviously required a little Cart Girl investigation.

How Sweet It Is: A Tribute to James Taylor is happening at Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts Friday night — and here’s the part that got S’s attention…

I’ve actually heard Nick Veine sing before. He’s GOOD. Like, really good. 👏

And THIS is what we keep talking about! We started S & T Cart Girls thinking we knew what was happening around Manistee…and now we keep finding all these little gems right under our noses.

Live music. A gorgeous historic theater. James Taylor songs.

Yeahhhh… this one deserves a spot on the weekend list. ❤️

🌭 Okay Manistee… if you have NOT had a Coney dog from Rory yet, you are MISSING OUT.

This guy is hands down one of my favorite chefs — and one of my favorite people! ❤️ The Detroit Coney Cart is his little side gig, and let me tell you… Rory knows how to make a Coney dog.

He’ll be at Miller’s Modern Market TODAY from 11–3!
