Over the past 28 years, I have worked as a sports correspondent at the Sheboygan Press, sports writer and editor at the Chilton Times-Journal and as the editor of The Sheboygan Falls News. I have enjoyed writing articles about a wide variety of people, places and things and the response to these articles have been overwhelmingly positive. One of the most successful and rewarding aspects of my news

paper reporting career has been the articles I have written on local businesses. These business profiles have been met with overwhelmingly positive responses and have worked to connect businesses with new customers who may have not known the business even existed. The key to these articles has been presenting the business in a personal way. Describing the background of the business owner and possibly even the managers and employees works to give the business a personality and human factor that works to form a connection with potential customers. After writing hundreds of these types of articles in the Sheboygan County area, I have realized that businesses are in need of a more personal touch in promoting themselves and the products and services that they offer. In today's modern internet and social media driven world, businesses can promote themselves through their own platforms including websites, as well as various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. While some businesses seem to understand the importance of this type of promotion, many others do not. I have noticed a number of businesses which have websites that are not regularly updated and do not adequately present the products and services that the businesses offer. In addition, they are either not utilizing social media or are doing so in a very generic and impersonal manner, which does not engage potential customers. I believe these businesses would benefit from a service which provides them with a comprehensive profile of their products and services while also presenting their background, goals and ambitions in a personal way with a distinct human touch. After a long off-season, it’s finally RACEDAY at The Plymouth Dirt Track in Plymouth, Wisconsin!

The opening night of the 2026 campaign features the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing Akright Auto 360 Sprint Cars, Oostburg Automotive Grand Nationals, and Sheboygan Flooring B Mods.

The Midwest Legends Dirt Series is also scheduled to make a special appearance as the evening’s guest division sponsored by Sheboygan's Rock Station, 106.5 the Buzz.

To help celebrate opening night, PDTR has added $3,000 to the purse for the 360 Sprint Car, Grand National and B Mod divisions ($1,000 each).

360 Sprint Cars will race for $1,000 to win and $200 to start, Grand Nationals $500 to win and $105 to start, and B Mods $500 to win and $85 to start.

Special early start times will be in place. Pit gates open at 1 p.m., spectator gates at 4 p.m., qualifying at 4:30 pm. and racing to follow.

Mayer Automotive is the night’s trophy sponsor.

Spectator admission prices
Adults: $15
Seniors ages 65 and over: $13
Students ages 12-18: $7
Children 11 & under: FREE (if accompanied by an adult)
Children 11 & under: $7 (if unaccompanied by an adult)

VibeTech CEO and Founder Dr. Jeff Leismer, Clinical Liaison Deb Jacoby and Head of Sales & Business Development Tim Eylander attended "A New Era in Alzheimer's Research" event at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) in Sheboygan on April 2.

Program speaker Dr. Chris Weber, Senior Director of Global Research Initiatives at the Alzheimer's Association touched on early signs and diagnosis, current and emerging treatments, and lifestyle changes that may reduce risk.

Dr. Leismer is the chair of the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer's at Evergreen Park in Sheboygan on Saturday, September 19.
