Located beside historic Fort Sewall, Fort Beach is one of Marblehead’s most scenic little coastal spots. With sweeping views of Marblehead Harbor, Chandler Hovey Park, and Marblehead Neck, it’s the kind of place where you can sit on the rocks, watch sailboats drift by, and truly soak in the town’s maritime charm.

The beach sits at the entrance to historic Fort Sewall, a coastal fortification dating back to the 1600s that played a role in both the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. Today, the fort and beach together create one of Marblehead’s most picturesque waterfront locations—perfect for sunsets, harbor walks, photography, and a quiet escape by the ocean.

Jeremiah Lee Mansion is one of Marblehead’s most impressive historic homes and a must-see for anyone interested in Colonial New England history and architecture. Built in 1768 for Jeremiah Lee, the wealthiest merchant in Colonial Massachusetts, the Georgian-style mansion has been preserved in a nearly original state and showcases the craftsmanship of early American artisans.

Visitors can tour the mansion and explore beautifully preserved period details that reflect both Marblehead’s maritime wealth and its ties to England before the American Revolution. The property also includes historic gardens that are open seasonally and provide a peaceful spot to stroll while taking in the atmosphere of 18th-century Marblehead.

The mansion is operated by the Marblehead Museum and is considered one of the finest surviving Late Georgian homes in the United States.Tours are offered seasonally from JUNE 1st through OCTOBER 31st, Tuesday through Saturday, with tours departing hourly between 10am and 3pm. Check with Marblehead Museum for the most up-to-date information.

This weekend join for the annual Colonial Craft Fair - Saturday, May 30th from 10am - 4pm. Colonial craftsmen will show off their talents in the Jeremiah Lee Mansion Garden. Buy tickets at marbleheadmuseum.org/upcoming-programs-page/
