Simple Acts Of Kindness

Hello all. I haven't posted in a while. I hope everyone is well. I work as a cook at a rest home now. The residents there have become a second family to me. It's amazing how much someone will appreciate a PB&J sandwich. Kindness can come from the smallest things.

Whenever I'm at Wall Mart and see someone in a scooter I try to help them reach things on high shelves. I don't feel I deserve anything for this. I just want to put it in the minds of others to try and help them when you can. I know a trip to Wall Mart is usually something we all want to get over with as quickly as we can do not everyone thinks of this and to be honest I wouldn't have either had I not had to use one when I was pregnant and not allowed to walk very far so when I went to the store I had to use a scooter. I had a lot of trouble reaching things .

I donated plasma and did everything they said. I ate plenty before I went and drank water. I also sat down after and stayed there for longer than the recommended time. After I was cleared and left I went to a nearby store to pick up a few odds and ends. I wasn't there for very long when I went to the checkout. After I paid I felt it coming. I was about to pass out. I sat right there on the floor in order not to pass out. Right after I sat an older woman asked me what was wrong and I told her. She stood there with me until I felt like I was ok to stand up. She then walked me out to my car and stood with me for a while longer until I felt like I was ok to drive. I had never seen this lady before. I don't know her name. That act of kindness warmed my heart. She took about a half hour of her time to make sure someone she had never met was ok. I felt she went beyond what a lot of people would do. I think GOD sent her. I was and still am so grateful to her for being so kind to me

Whenever someone mistreats you try to remember they may be going through something at the time. A little compassion goes a long way. It's most likely not personal although it's hard not to take it that way. If we could all change our thinking a little we could make the world a better place.

When anyone is in a store like Walk Mart and you see someone in a scooter or someone short or having trouble getting something off a high shelf You should offer to help them. I know we all get into a hurry and I think we just don't think about it . To the person having a hard time the help means so much to them.
