A better-looking website doesn’t always mean better results.
But a clearer one almost always does.

Studies have shown that improving user experience can increase conversion rates by up to 200%, and strong UX design can push that even further—up to 400%.

That’s not coming from adding more animations or redesigning everything for the sake of it.

It usually comes from:
➡️ Clear messaging
➡️ Better structure
➡️ Fewer decisions for the user to make

Most websites don’t struggle because they look bad.
They struggle because they make people work too hard.

And the second something feels like work… people leave.
If your site feels like it should be doing more but isn’t, it’s probably not about doing more—it’s about simplifying what’s already there.

Take a look at your site like a first-time visitor.

If anything feels unclear, that’s probably where the opportunity is.
And if you want a second perspective, I’m always happy to take a look. Let’s chat!

Really proud to share this one. 🧭 Families First — a Georgia nonprofit dedicated to strengthening family resiliency — recently launched a major gifts campaign called Navigating the Future, and I had the honor of creating the campaign logo and donor brochure to support it.

The logo centers on a compass, a natural fit for a campaign about charting a bold course forward, and the brochure makes the case for major investment by walking donors through Families First's three core impact areas: the Vance Center for Behavioral Health, Navigator Services, and Parenting & Adoption Support Services.

This is the kind of design work that really matters — materials placed directly in the hands of donors who have the capacity to make a transformational difference for Georgia families. It was a privilege to help give this campaign a visual identity worthy of the mission behind it. Full writeup at the link below!

“Simple” is one of the most common requests in design.
It’s also one of the most misunderstood.

Simple doesn’t mean quick. It doesn’t mean minimal effort. And it definitely doesn’t mean “just remove a few things and call it a day.”

If anything, it’s the opposite.

It usually takes more exploration, more edits, and more decisions to get to something that feels effortless.

😅 Most “simple” brands have gone through about 20 versions before getting there.

If you’ve been through that process, you already know.
What part of it slowed you down the most?

A lot of businesses think they need a new logo.

Most of the time, they don’t.

What’s usually happening is something deeper—unclear messaging, a website that isn’t guiding people, or a brand that no longer reflects where the business actually is.

The logo just happens to be where that disconnect shows up first.

If you’ve been thinking about a rebrand, this is worth a read:

There’s a reason “we need a new logo” is one of the most common starting points in branding conversations. It feels tangible. It feels like progress. It feels like the quickest way to fix something that doesn’t quite feel right. But most of the time, the logo isn’t the problem. What’s ac...

It's always a joy to return to a client whose brand you helped build from scratch! 🙌 Bridge Body Clinic + Training Center came back to promote an exciting new service offering, and we got to put their established brand identity to work across two new pieces: yard signs and a trifold brochure.

Having designed the original Bridge Body brand — the logo, color palette, typography, and all the supporting pieces — meant I already knew exactly how to extend it. The bold gold, orange, and deep blue; the four upward accent lines; the clean modern type. All of it showed up consistently across both pieces, so whether someone spots a yard sign outside the clinic or picks up a brochure inside, it all feels unmistakably Bridge Body.

The yard signs were designed for a quick, bold impression — clear messaging at a glance. The brochure goes deeper, walking current and potential clients through the new service from intro to call to action. Two very different formats, one cohesive brand.

There’s a difference between something that looks good and something that actually works.

A lot of brands look polished on the surface but don’t really guide people toward a decision. On the other hand, some of the most effective brands aren’t overly complex — they’re just clear, intentional, and easy to navigate.

✅That’s usually the goal.

Not just something that gets attention, but something that holds it and moves people forward.

If you’re not sure where your brand stands, take a look at how people are actually interacting with it.

That tends to tell you everything you need to know.

🚨Most brands lose people before they even have a chance to explain themselves.

It takes about 0.05 seconds for someone to form an opinion about your website—and roughly 94% of that judgment is based on design.

That means before your messaging, your offer, or your value prop even registers…

your design has already made the first impression.

And if that experience feels:
❌ cluttered
❌ unclear
❌ hard to navigate

people don’t stick around to figure it out.

They leave.

This is where a lot of brands get it wrong. They assume it’s a traffic issue, or that they need more content—when in reality, the problem is how everything is being presented.

Good design isn’t just about looking polished. It’s about making things obvious, intuitive, and easy to move through.

👉 If your site isn’t getting the engagement you expected, take a step back and look at it like a first-time visitor. Is it clear what you do within the first few seconds?

If you’re not sure, feel free to drop your site below or send it over. I’m always happy to take a look.

Project Spotlight: Georgia On Our Minds Concert Graphics
Not every design project is about selling a product. Some are about capturing a feeling—and getting people to show up for it.

For Georgia On Our Minds, the goal wasn’t just to create something visually appealing. It was about building a look that matched the tone of the concert itself—something that felt expressive, rooted, and memorable enough to stand on its own across different formats.

Concert graphics come with a unique challenge. They need to:
✔️Grab attention quickly
✔️Communicate key details clearly
✔️Still feel cohesive as part of a larger experience

There’s not a lot of room for confusion.

What makes projects like this interesting is the balance. You’re designing for visibility, but also for emotion. It has to work on a screen, on print, and in the context of everything happening around the event.

And when it comes together, it doesn’t just look good—it feels aligned with the moment it’s part of.

If you’re working on something that needs to translate across formats and still feel cohesive, that’s usually where thoughtful creative direction makes the difference.

Take a look at the full project here:

The Atlanta Freedom Bands (www.atlantafreedombands.com) are continuing their concert band season with the second performance in their three-show series, Georgia On Our Minds. For this season, we’ve taken a thoughtful approach to designing graphics for event promotion that creates a unified visual ...

Quick question:

If someone landed on your website for the first time… would they know what you do within 5 seconds?

If the answer is “maybe,” that’s probably costing you more than you think.

A lot of websites don’t have a design problem—they have a direction problem.

My work with web creation addresses this and more.

“We just need a new logo.”

It’s one of the most common starting points in branding conversations and usually not the real issue!

More often, it’s a clarity problem that’s showing up as a design problem.

Once that’s fixed, everything else gets easier.

If something about your brand feels off lately, this might help you figure out why. Read my latest blog here:
