With everything going on with COVID, it's been harder to get out and about, but I'm very happy to have had the chance to go on this adventure, just outside Seattle, WA. Predators of the Heart is a wolf sanctuary and exotic animal rescue that offers small group wolf encounters. While their wolf packs are for conservation purposes only (they help repopulate places like Yellowstone when the wolf population dwindles), they rescue all manner of other exotic (and adorable) animals. It's so evident that they are passionate about all of their work, raising awareness, and, above all, care for the animals. What a magical and awe inspiring way to spend an afternoon!

South Africa - Our last stop in South Africa is Cape Town. We stayed in Camp's Bay, explored the waterfront, visited Table Mountain, and visited the Cape of Good Hope. We took a fantastic tour that took us to see the African Penguins and drove us around the Cape. Our guide even warned us about the baboons who like to steal from tourists!

South Africa - After getting some great pics (and pets), we moved on to Kruger National Park to get some real wild animals on camera. We stayed at the most wonderful Shepherd's Tree Game Lodge where they pampered us, fed us the most delicious food, and then drove us around all day to get the BEST pictures! Our guide helped me complete the last of my Big 5 by finding us a herd of very shy Cape Buffalo.

South Africa - Finally made it back to South Africa for a real vacation and brought along hubby & friends. Our first stop (to make sure we got some wildlife and great pics) was the Lion & Safari Park. We did the daytime tour as well as the nighttime feeding tour! Highly recommend both!

Road Trip - Day 9 - Having already been to the south rim of the Grand Canyon, and due to the time of year, we chose to explore the far less visited north rim of the Grand Canyon. We were very surprised to find the north rim and the area surrounding it to be a cool, forested plateau and nothing like the south rim!

Road Trip - Day 8 - Moving from the Utah/Arizona border which Monument Valley straddles, we moved fully into Arizona for Lake Powell and the Rainbow Bridge. It was very, very hot here, but well worth it for the boat ride & hike to the arch.

Road Trip - Day 7 - Monument Valley has been on my list for so long, and I couldn't have asked for a better day. You can drive yourself through the valley, but would recommend a high clearance vehicle to see everything. It is a dirt road that can be very uneven in parts. We ended up going with a private Navajo tour guide to take us around so that we didn't have to worry about the road and got to learn more about the place and the people.

Road Trip - Day 6 - Canyonlands is so massive and beautiful - it definitely makes you feel small in comparison. Chris and I took a separate car so we could stay "late" and catch a sunset, finally. Would definitely recommend coming with a 4WD or renting a 4WD vehicle for this park so you can go do some of the offroad trails in the canyons instead of just seeing everything from the top. Next time!

Road Trip - Day 5 - We trekked from Capitol Reef to Moab and met up with Chris's parents to explore Arches together. It was very warm out so early morning and late evening were the best times to explore the park - luckily during summer sunset is at 9:30PM. Crazy!!!
