As 2024 comes to a close, BDC3D wishes all a safe and healthy new year!

Thank you to all who visited our shop, favorited items, purchased items, or left a review. We also appreciate those that reached out sharing your story of what the order meant to you or a loved one.

Reflecting on 2024 - we far exceeded the goal of 150 sales - from our (18) different model and Geocaching container listings. Pictures attached are the 2024 lineup of Federal Signal Tornado Siren Mini models, with more siren designs to come in 2025.

In the new year - we look forward to working with new and returning customers, hearing your feedback, and sharing new creative models. All ideas and requests are welcome!

This summer, a customer reached out to ask if I could print her son a Thunderbolt Tornado Siren. At the time, I didn't know much about sirens - but researched everything I could find on the design, operation, and series variants... After several iterations and improvements - BDC3D released the first "Thunderbolt Mini" on the Etsy shop in early October... The response by enthusiasts and parents of children "obsessed" with Tornado Sirens has been exciting and humbling. This is why I started BDC3D, and why I continue to look for new ideas to share.

Follow progress on my model of a "Federal Signal Thunderbolt Tornado Siren" inspired by an Etsy customer request.
Third proof of concept that the rotator assembly works.
Custom designed thrust bearing with 3D printed races and stainless steel ball bearings. Pulleys and belt 3D printed. Rotator is driven by a micro motor powered by AA batteries, with speed control by a potentiometer.

Second proof of concept that the rotor/stator assembly with discharge horn amplifies the tornado siren sound. Rotor driven by a micro motor powered by AA batteries, with speed control by a potentiometer.
