Before Mae West, Bette Midler, or Queen Latifah, there was Sophie Tucker. With the help of two former Harlem headliners, Tucker rose from the deli counter to become a full-fledged star in her own right. Known for performing iconic songs like “After You’re Gone”, “There’ll Be Some Changes Made”, and “Some of These Days”, Sophie Tucker brought a unique blend of tap dancing and groundbreaking, sassy humor to the stage.

What’s happening to uncared-for cemeteries in America?

Back in April, we orchestrated a rare press event, exclusively inviting journalists to witness Joseph Ferrannini, a dedicated gravestone restorer, breathe life back into stones from the 1890s at the historic Har Hasetim Jewish cemetery in Galdwyne, PA, managed by Beth David Reform Congregation.

These plots hold the remains of first-generation European immigrants, with the last burial dating back to 1945.

Neil Sukonik, President of Friends of the Gladwyne Jewish Memorial Cemetery, joined Joe for interviews. Joe, one of the nation's few remaining gravestone restorers, visits this sacred ground about twice a year.

As May draws to a close, it's important to remember that Pediatric Stroke Awareness doesn't end with the month. Stroke can affect people of all ages, including children.

Recognizing the Signs:
- Sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body
- Difficulty speaking or understanding speech
- Severe headache
- Loss of balance or coordination
- Sudden vision changes

If you suspect a child is having a stroke, it's important to act quickly. Here's what you can do:
- Call for Emergency Medical Assistance
- Stay Calm
- Do Not Delay Treatment
- Follow Medical Advice
- Seek Support

By staying informed, knowing the signs, and taking swift action, we can help improve outcomes for children affected by stroke. Let's continue to raise awareness and support ongoing efforts to prevent, recognize, and manage pediatric stroke throughout the year. 💜
