Mending and Alterations is an ever changing job. You just never know what customers are going to ask for. Repair on an antique seeder bag, a hat that they love and needs heavy reconstruction or simply a beloved child’s toy.

One of the main goals of mending is repairing it to look like it did before. When pieces are heavily worn or missing that is impossible. But we try to make it as unnoticeable as possible.

Today, May 5th, 1935 the most amazing person was born to an Italian immigrant and an English woman. And today I am so privileged to call her mom! She is the Grand Mama at Mamas Mending and if you have ever had a quilt repaired or made by us she had her hand in it. She binds every quilt we make and until very recently did all the quilt repairs. She is the greatest mom and grandma ever! She is 91 yrs old today and no one ever believes it. She is my Mama and does not do computers, but I had to post about her cuz I am just so proud.
