Which metric matters more for driving sales on Amazon: CTR (Click-Through Rate) or CVR (Conversion Rate)? The answer isn’t either/or—it’s both. However, understanding their roles is key to unlocking your sales potential.

Here’s how they contribute:

✅ CTR (Click-Through Rate): The Gateway to Sales

CTR is where it all starts. Without clicks, your listing doesn’t even have a chance to convert shoppers. Your CTR depends on how well your product stands out in search results:

• Eye-catching main images

• Review count but more importantly the star rating

• Competitive pricing, discounts, coupons etc

If people aren’t clicking, they’ll never see your listing.

✅ CVR (Conversion Rate): Turning Clicks Into Customers

Once a shopper clicks, CVR takes the stage. This measures how effectively your listing converts traffic into buyers. It’s influenced by:

• High-quality images that tell a story

• Lifestyle images that create a connection with the customer

• A+ Content that builds trust and answers questions

A low CVR means you’re losing sales even after shoppers land on your listing.

Why Both Matter

Think of CTR and CVR as two sides of the same coin:

• A great CTR without a solid CVR leads to wasted traffic and ad spend.

• A great CVR without clicks means no one’s even reaching your listing.

To grow sales, optimize for both:

1️⃣ Use compelling visuals in your main image along with pricing tricks to boost CTR.

2️⃣ Enhance your listing’s infographics/lifestyles/A+ and videos to increase CVR.

Optimizing your listings for SEO is key to standing out on Amazon, but how do you measure success? It’s not just about keyword placement—it’s about tracking the right metrics to ensure your efforts are paying off.

Here are the 5 essential metrics every seller should monitor to evaluate their SEO performance:

1️⃣ Increased Impressions

• The first sign of SEO success is more people seeing your product. Monitor impressions to ensure your keywords are driving visibility.

2️⃣ Higher Click-Through Rates (CTR)

• More impressions are great, but are they leading to clicks? A higher CTR means your titles, images, and pricing are resonating with shoppers.

3️⃣ Improved Organic Traffic

• Organic traffic growth shows that your SEO strategy is helping your products rank higher, without relying on ads.

4️⃣ Conversion Rate (CVR)

• Visibility is pointless without conversions. Track whether the increased traffic is translating into actual sales. This indicates if the keywords you used were relevant to your product and ideal customer that your product targets.

5️⃣ Better Organic Keyword Rankings

• Keep an eye on where your products rank for targeted keywords. Climbing to page 1 for high-value search terms is a clear win for SEO efforts.

Use Amazon’s search term report and tools like Helium 10 to monitor these metrics consistently and adjust your strategy as needed. SEO is a long game, but tracking these KPIs will help you refine and improve over time.

Your Amazon brand store isn’t just a showcase—it’s a sales-driving machine when optimized correctly. But is your store set up to maximize its potential?

The goal of a brand store is simple: create a central hub where customers can explore all your products. But it’s also an opportunity to:

✅ Help shoppers find related products easily.

✅ Increase average order value by encouraging cross-sells.

✅ Build a cohesive and professional brand image that inspires trust.

How to optimize your store layout for better sales:

1️⃣ Organize by Category or Need: Group your products into logical sections (e.g., “Best Sellers,” “New Arrivals,” or categories like “Fitness Gear” or “Kitchen Essentials”). Make navigation intuitive.

2️⃣ Highlight Related Products: Use carousel widgets or “Recommended Products” sections to showcase items that complement the shopper’s interest.

3️⃣ Leverage Lifestyle Imagery: Incorporate high-quality, lifestyle images that show your products in use. This makes your store visually appealing and helps customers envision owning your products.

4️⃣ Add Engaging Content: Use video and infographics to communicate your brand story, highlight unique selling points, or explain how to use your products.

5️⃣ Promote Offers and Bundles: Feature discounts, bundles, or promotions prominently. This encourages higher order values and creates a sense of urgency.

Pro Tip: Regularly analyze your store’s performance metrics (traffic, conversion rate, sales) using Amazon’s Store Insights. Use this data to refine your layout and test new ideas.

A well-optimized store layout doesn’t just look good—it helps your customers find what they need and drives up your sales.

Keywords can make or break your Amazon listings. But are you making these common placement mistakes that hurt readability, rankings, and sales?

Many Amazon sellers struggle to strike the right balance between optimizing for search engines and creating a seamless shopping experience for customers. Keyword placement matters, and avoiding these common pitfalls can dramatically improve your performance.

Optimizing keywords isn’t just about stuffing as many as you can into your listing—it’s about *strategic placement.* By understanding where and how to use keywords effectively, you can create listings that rank high, convert well, and maintain a professional appearance.

Here are some common pitfalls and how to avoid them:

✅ Overstuffing Keywords in Titles: Titles should balance essential product information with relevant, high-value keywords. Include the product name, a key feature or benefit, and related long-tail keyword phrases. Keep it clean and readable to boost conversions.

✅ Ignoring Backend Keywords: Don’t overlook this valuable real estate! Avoid reusing keywords already in your listing and stick to single words for generic search terms. Use A+ content alt text to mix long-tail phrases and single words strategically.

✅ Keyword-Stuffing Bullet Points: Bullets should remain readable. Remember: *“Text is for robots, and images are for people.”* Strategically include keywords, but focus on product details that customers need to know. A clear, legible structure wins trust and drives sales.

✅ Relying Too Heavily on Generic Keywords: Generic terms like “shoes” don’t stand out. Use long-tail phrases like “running shoes for women” or “shoes for female runners” to target specific customer needs and improve rankings for niche searches.

Think keyword optimization is too tricky? Start by refining one area at a time, like titles or bullets, and test the results. Small improvements can lead to big wins.

We’ve seen sellers transform their listings simply by optimizing keyword placement, resulting in higher visibility and conversions—without overloading their listings.

Launching a PPC campaign without a clear goal is like driving without a destination—you’ll burn through fuel (or budget) without getting anywhere.

Every PPC campaign must have a specific objective. Are you trying to get more impressions, increase sales, or boost your organic rankings? Defining your goal is critical to selecting the right bidding strategy to achieve success.

Your campaign’s bidding strategy directly influences how efficiently you meet your goals. For example, if you’re launching a new product and want high impressions, Fixed Bids are ideal. However, for optimizing sales or ROAS, a Down-Only bidding strategy ensures better control over costs. Understanding these nuances allows you to maximize your ad spend effectively.

Here’s how to align your goals with bidding strategies:

✅ High Impressions for New Products: Use Fixed Bids to guarantee clicks regardless of competition. Be cautious—it can get expensive quickly, so monitor closely.

✅ Optimizing for Sales & ROAS: The Down-Only strategy is a safe bet. Amazon can lower your bids but won’t exceed your set price, protecting your budget.

✅ Boosting Organic Ranks: Target a small set of high-value keywords. Focus on impressions over sales for those phrases to push organic rankings.

Not sure which strategy fits your goals? Start with smaller campaigns, measure results, and iterate. PPC success is a marathon, not a sprint.

We’ve helped clients boost organic rankings for high-value keywords while keeping ROAS stable—because the right goals lead to the right results.

Are you utilizing product bundles on Amazon? Bundles are a great way to cross-promote related products and can accomplish many different goals.

For example:

Increase your average order value - combining two products into one for a slightly discounted price can make customers think that they are getting an excellent deal. Add a coupon on top of that, and you will have a winning duo.

Sell through dead stock - if you have a slow moving listing with tons of dead stock.. consider creating a bundle with a high-performing listing. The slow mover will greatly benefit from the increased traffic.

Test out product combinations for physical bundles in the future - rather than creating a physical bundle and having that fall on its face, test your idea with a virtual bundle first. No extra outlay; if it doesn't work out, you can delete it. You won't have stock in warehouses to worry about.

How are you using product bundles on Amazon?

Amazon is a waste of time if you do not have brand registry. Prove me wrong.

Without brand registry you have:

Limited Control Over Listings: Brand Registry gives you greater control over your product detail pages, allowing you to manage content more effectively. Without it, other sellers can make changes to your listings, potentially creating inaccurate or misleading information. Amazon also often won't publish your edits with out BR.

No A+ Content Access: A+ Content gives enhanced visuals, storytelling, and product information that help convert customers. Without Brand Registry, you lose this powerful tool for engaging shoppers and increasing sales. A+ is proven to increase conversions by 10%.

Limited Access to Sponsored Brands Ads: Without Brand Registry, you can’t access Sponsored Brands ads, which means you miss out on premium ad placements, including brand banners, video ads, and multi-product ads that boost visibility.

Increased Risk of Hijackers: Unregistered brands are more vulnerable to hijackers, who can list counterfeit items or even “steal” your Buy Box, leading to negative reviews, lost revenue, and potential account issues.

No Amazon Storefront: Without Brand Registry, you cannot create an Amazon Storefront, missing out on the opportunity to showcase your product catalog in a custom-branded shopping experience that can boost brand loyalty.

Limited Reporting and Insights: Brand Registry gives access to advanced analytics tools like Brand Analytics and Customer Insights, which provide valuable data for understanding customer behavior, improving targeting, and refining product listings.

Reduced Customer Trust: Brand Registry conveys legitimacy and trust. Without it, customers may be wary of purchasing from you, especially for premium products where authenticity and quality are top priorities.

Win by getting the basics right, not by being fancy.

Stay In Stock - If you go out of stock, your rankings will tank, customer trust will take a hit, and your sales will stop immediately.

Optimize Like Crazy - Optimize your images, A+ content, and listing copy. Everything. Constantly track metrics to make sure that your optimizations are actually working.

Update Your SEO - Do not set and forget your listings. Optimize your SEO according to holidays, seasonality, and general changes in customer search terms.

PPC - You have to spend money to make money. Amazon is pay to win. If you do not have a solid PPC system in place, your competitors will quickly push you out of the market.
