Every year, my labor of love to my extended family, I do a date book/address directory. Each year has a unique cover, along with a cover story, special dates for the year, and events (births, weddings, etc.) updates for the previous year. I took this project over 15 years ago from my great uncle (Neil F. Smith), who did it by hand, which is the cover story for this year.

So happy to have been able to design this logo for the Maynard Library!

We don't know about you, but we think the Maynard Public Library is so great that it deserves its own logo. And now it has one! We hope you like it. The library aims to be a place of openness--open to all of the Maynard community, open to discovery, open to many voices, and open to information, ideas, and different ways of seeing things. Credit for the logo design goes to Maro Hogan of Purple Pear Design, who created the final logo, and MPL staff member Semra Erdal, who helped us come up with the original concept. Thank you, Semra and Maro!

I will be showing my latest, collaborative project with ArtSpace Maynard: "Dreaming Public Art: 14 Proposals by Local Artists and Youth" at 63 Nason St, Maynard. The show will be showing until June 12, 2021. This Saturday, May 15, 2021 is the opening reception from 2-4pm. Hope to see you there!
