For forty years Dr. Jeff Gower has had an amazing run raising, showing, and importing Clydesdale horses. And for 25 years, Glenn, Shelley, Jessica and Danielle Lewis have headed the program for Dr. Gower. With them teaming up they have had tremendous success in breeding, showing, and offering Clydesdale offspring that have made impacts within the breed in North America.
This spring when the opportunity came about for us to purchase the remaining breeding program from them, it was a no brainer.
With the acquisition of the Soaring Eagle herd being home raised and imported horses from Christer and Michelle Paulson, in Sweden. We feel it has taken our breeding program here at Verner Family Clydesdales to the next level.
We took the opportunity to take some of our herd along with the acquired Soaring Eagle herd to two shows, Illinois State Fair and the 2025 World Clydesdale Show, and we are beyond happy with the results.

Verner Family Clydesdales has much to be grateful for this show year, we went to the world show with the mindset to try and make the top 10. We far exceeded our expectations. We give great thanks to Dr. Jeff Gower, Glenn and Shelley Lewis family, for the foresight in raising and importing tremendous horses, and look forward to continuing their legacy! We thank our show crew this year: Scott Love, Miley Houser, Justin Miller, Jonathan and Marissa Cush, Tom Wall and the cook that kept us fed and happy at the shows, Rose Wall.
And to the ranch crew back home that keeps everything rolling from day to day making sure the Fifty head are at their best! We give much thanks and gratitude.
As show shoes get pulled, parade horses are taking their spots in the barn. We look forward to seeing the Oklahoma and Texas communities this coming parade season doing what we do proudly. Promoting Big V Feeds!
