Meet Skylar… better known around here as Feral Fox 🦊

Since 2021, Skylar has been the backbone of Clever Fox operations. If something runs smoothly, gets built right, or exceeds expectations… there’s a very good chance she had her hands in it.

She’s our Operations Manager, Project Manager, SOP architect, and the one keeping all the moving pieces from turning into chaos. From dialing in internal systems to cranking out high-performing websites for fence contractors, she brings a level of precision and consistency that’s hard to match.

But here’s the fun part…

Behind the organized workflows and dialed-in processes is a gamer at heart. When she’s not building websites, she’s leveling up in video games, hanging out with her husband, and keeping up with her wildly lovable Golden-Doodle, Wallace.

Skylar brings the perfect mix of structure and personality to our team. She gets things done, keeps us on track, and somehow makes it all look effortless.

FenceFam — quick PSA for contractors, owners, and marketers across the fence industry.

We are seeing a growing trend from large fence franchises and big box retailers (like Home Depot) using Dynamic Keyword Insertion (DKI) inside Google Ads. This tactic automatically replaces ad text with the exact phrase a customer searches. Sounds harmless, but here is the problem:

Your company name, or other local fence company names, can get pulled directly into THEIR ads.

That means a homeowner searching for your business may see a competitor’s ad displaying YOUR brand name in their headline or description. This creates confusion, weakens brand trust, and can divert leads that were specifically looking for you.

Here is how to protect your company:

1. Monitor your brand searches
Google your company name regularly. If you see another company’s ad using your name inside their ad copy, capture screenshots immediately.

2. Check competitor ad behavior
Search key terms like “fence company near me” plus your brand name. Watch how large advertisers are inserting dynamic terms.

3. Lock down your own brand campaign
Run a dedicated Brand Protection campaign in Google Ads targeting ONLY your business name and variations. This ensures you control the top position when customers search for you.

4. Use negative keyword defense
Add competitor brand names and irrelevant brand variations as negative keywords so your ads do not accidentally contribute to the same confusion.

5. Consider trademark enforcement
