VIBE is a result of being personally approached by the Chamber of Commerce from McGregor, TX in September 2016 due to a 12,000 square foot, multi-vendor store located on Main Street, announcing their sudden decision to close and evict over forty vendors within two weeks time.
Our family owns a 9,000 square foot building on the other side of the street from this business and the city knew we had previous retail experience. Their request was if we could help keep these vendors on Main Street and salvage the holiday sales season.
After a bit of hesitation, our family committed to the project and invited the vendors to move their inventory over to our building as we developed plans for this new business.
By the end of September, we had incorporated under VIBE, LLC and I had started drawing designs for a new front facade, floor plans, store policies and started to work on branding.
By mid October we had submitted designs to the city for a new exterior for approval by the Downtown Historic Committee and had begun building out interior walls for vendor spaces.
On Black Friday in November we allowed vendors to sale items out of their own booths as we still weren't quite ready to conducts sales on their behalf, but we didn't want any of them to miss a major holiday to make much needed sells.
By December 6, 2016 we were able to have a soft opening to manage sells for all of the vendors. Meanwhile, we were having the entire front facade of the store replaced with new windows, doors, awning and signage.
We officially started business January 1, 2020 and have been developing our showroom and marketing ever since!
