✨🌱✨
Down here on the Mad River Bluffs, the land teaches quietly.
No lectures.
No noise.
Just patterns… if you’re willing to look.
I found these two seedlings side by side in the same compost pile.
Same soil.
Same sun.
Same rain.
But not the same outcome.
One stayed centered. Built a tight, strong root base. When it came time to move, it held together. It transitioned clean.
The other went searching.
Reaching for moisture. Stretching beyond its foundation. By the time I found it, the taproot had wandered too far to be contained in a small pot.
Same beginning.
Different strategy.
Different result.
🌱
Out here, that difference matters.
Because transplanting isn’t just about where you’re going…
It’s about whether your roots can handle the move.
A plant that builds strength where it’s planted can go anywhere.
A plant that spends its energy searching… struggles when it’s time to transition.
🌿
Funny thing is… the land doesn’t just grow plants.
It grows people too.
And the same pattern shows up again and again.
Some of us were taught to reach.
To chase.
To stretch ourselves thin looking for what we think is missing.
Others learn to root first.
To build strength quietly.
To understand the ground beneath their feet.
🌱
One holds.
One wanders.
Only one transplants clean.
🌿
We’re seeing this everywhere right now.
And we’re going to start talking about it more.
Because strong roots… change everything.
