Situation: Prospect is running ads for a pre-recorded webinar. Over 4,000 people have registered but none of them have bought the offer.
After several thousand dollars in ad spend, the prospect reaches out to a couple of gurus to diagnose the problem. The gurus give high-level feedback about ad targeting, email follow-up, etc.
Prospect comes to me, and I immediately identify the real issue.
It's not the ad or the targeting. Everything there looks amazing!
The problem is the video watch page.
Out of 4,000 opt-ins, only 300 watched any part of the video.
Why?
Because the video was buried halfway down the watch page below an entirely different call to action. On mobile view, that's a lot of scrolling to get to what people opted in to see in the first place.
The ad promised a webinar, but the watch page didn't deliver at first glance. It felt off.
The result was that people bounced, never heard the prospect's message, never clicked the call to action button, never opened their emails, and never bought.
