To our friends, clients, colleagues, partners ...

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share Florencia Bialet, IMD's incredibly vibrant co-founder and CEO, passed away on November 26 after a 10-year battle with cancer.

Florencia chose to keep her health journey private, ever determined to not let her personal challenge impede the growth and success of the company she created and to which she was wholly devoted. Her commitment to IMD’s clients and her impeccable professionalism never wavered. She remained to the end a steadfast leader, attentive to her employees, and filled with endless enthusiasm and creativity.

Florencia’s love and big-picture vision shaped IMD from its earliest days, and her influence will guide us as we honor her legacy going forward. We are committed to upholding the standards Florencia set and we will continue to deliver the excellence in service our clients have come to expect from us.

While this is understandably a difficult period for our team, IMD’s operations remain strong and uninterrupted. Thank you sincerely for your continued trust and support.

This year's Women History Month campaign showcased seven amazing women in Architecture and Aviation planning. Highlighting incredible and inspirational experiences in different fields, each of them gave an image of what it is like to be a woman in these industries.

Through these wonderful female voices, we are excited to find and host new aspiring women who are making differences in Design and Constructions and look forward to hearing their journeys in our next Women's History Month!

In honor of Women’s History Month, we proudly showcase this interview campaign, which highlights women in architecture and surrounding industries. Although women have traditionally been a minority in these spaces for many years, these interviews show that women still take their careers by storm.

We were lucky enough to interview seven phenomenal women and hear their incredible stories: Katherine Arboleda, Yoko Yarita, Joanna Schmickel, Laura Holthus, Kali Bowers, Elise Robinson, and Nicole Hollant-Denis. Finding success in their high-powered careers in architecture, entrepreneurship, real estate, aviation, project management, and more, these interviews showcase what it is like to be a woman in these industries in 2022.

Each interview demonstrates the multifaceted viewpoints and experiences that women in the industry face. Some of the highlights include that not only do women deserve to be in these industries, but they also deserve equity in every facet. Additionitionally, it is vital to both find a mentor more architectural opportunities. Furthermore, women should never be afraid to take up space in the industry and never be scared to speak their minds. Ultimately, despite the struggles, all of the women interviewed believe that the future for the upcoming female generation is very bright.

We look forward to amplifying female voices through these powerful interviews. Women’s History Month reminds us that anything is possible, and we remain hopeful for the future of women in architecture—and all career fields—worldwide.
