Social media is THE way to get leads today. With Covid-19 “taking over the world” this past year. More people are flocking online than ever before, and the numbers are going up everyday Of users on social media.

That being said, most contractors are not doing SM in an effective way.

So here’s 3 tips for getting the most out of your social media profiles.

1. Figure out who your ideal client is, and where they hang out.

If your main focus is roofing vs. other GC jobs, does this mean commercial clients?? Customers with full re-deck jobs and a ton of O&P?

Define it. And figure out where they hang. Your commercial guys are more likely than not on LinkdIn vs. Facebook, whereas your older houses that need re-decks belong to either really young folks just starting out, or older folks in their 60’s and 70’s who might be hanging out in online FB groups for gaming (younger gen) or “knitting in your area” for the older groups.

Point is. Find out where they hang out.

3. Your personal profile has the ability to attract more business than your business page.

Let’s be honest, we only go to a business page when we need information specific to that business. Doesn’t mean we’ll ever call. Plus, most business pages are more spam of “asking you to call now” vs. providing valuable content. If you do some simple things to tweak your personal profiles, and post consistent entertaining content, you’ll find more jobs coming from “Bob down the street” than you’d ever believe possible

2. Quit posting about your business every. Single. Post.

We get it dude. You sell -fill in the blanks- ....... And we’re also tired of hearing about it.

Your social media has to be designed around the 80-20 rule if you ever hope to get the algorithms working in your favor / want people to be attracted to your content.

You Need to ENTERTAIN more than you try to SELL. It seems like it should be the other way around, but how has that been working out for you???? Yeah. Thought so.
