The June 15, 2026 issue of BBN is now available online, in your mailbox and around town. The issue features an interview with Bill Penney, now Florida Market President of Marine – A Division of ELGA Credit Union. Marine Bank & Trust Co. merged with ELGA to provide enhanced opportunities for growth of the organization in the region and increased benefits for members and employees. Joining Bill Penney are Kellie Clayton, Jason Tapley, Lory Milton and William Tolley.
Kathie Elias, is the executive director of Eau Gallie Arts District’s Main Street program. Kristina Grimm, is the nonprofit organization’s social media manager. EGAD will mark its 20th year as a Main Street program in 2030. Next year, EGAD will begin its strategic planning that will include a lot of community collaboration. The Main Street team will be surveying businessowners, visitors, and residents about their vision for EGAD. The district has seen a flurry of new business openings.
Grace Moss had an aggressive tumor invade her jaw when she was 9 years old. It was caught during a regular dental checkup. She underwent a total mandibulectomy. Grace, now 18 years old, went through two surgeries. Dr. James Melville, who reconstructed Grace’s jaw using tissue engineering, referred her to Dr. Sadesh Kumar at Wickham Dental Care in Melbourne for dental implants. The June 8, 2026 issue of BBN is now available online, in your mailbox and around town. The issue features an interview with Jon Scott Santy principal broker of Atlantic Group Real Estate Inc., which just relocated its office to Florida Avenue in the heart of Historic Cocoa Village. The move comes amid continued momentum for the independent agency including 7 home sales this year over the $1 million mark. The team includes: Skyler Vano, James Farrar, Jasta Meade, Will Andersen, Santy, Ashley Hall, Shellianne LaFrance, Tim Beakley, and Gloria Dickson. They are upbeat about home sales for the second half of this year.
Tom Kammerdener, president and chief executive officer of Aging Matters in Brevard leads the nonprofit organization in its 61st year. Aging Matters in Brevard’s flagship program is Meals on Wheels. Volunteers deliver prepared, nutritious food directly to the homes of individuals who are unable to shop or cook for themselves. The volunteers also do safety checks. Demand for this program is rapidly growing. Businesses and individuals can help by making recurring monthly donations of $5 or more.
Adam Latham is managing partner and creative director at the Cowbell Agency Inc. in Indian Harbour Beach. Sean Williams is vice president of strategic marketing and partner. Their full–service agency helps businesses and organizations of all sizes connect with audiences and consumers using various communication tools. Cowbell Agency holds third–party auditor certification in strict accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. HIPAA certification is desirable to have when working with health–care concerns in marketing and public relations.

The June 1, 2026 issue of BBN is full of interesting interviews and news. Available online, in your mailbox and around town this week’s paper begins with a feature about the Health First–Parrish Stroke Network. The partnership aims to strengthen regional stroke care by improving quality and patient outcomes. Sharing the excitement are Dr. Victor Vargas, Dr. Abhishek Agrawal, Dr. Christopher Rajan, Terry Forde, George Mikitarian, Dr. Fawad Shaheen, and Mike Mullowney.
Nicole Reed has stepped into entrepreneurship with the opening of Uptown Whimsy on East New Haven Avenue in Melbourne. Her boutique–style retail store sells everything from leather purses to embroidered jeans for women, and telescopes to wallets and Panama–style straw hats for men. Reed, an artist and commercial real estate agent, also sells her paintings and makes pieces of jewelry and other items for the store.
Amanda Moyles Gonnella is founder and broker of BSC Real Estate. She has worked in the local market for more than a decade and started her own firm in January. Gonnella, a University of Virginia graduate, is among the region’s consistent top producers. Her father, Dr. Frank Moyles, was a practicing physician in Brevard for many years before retiring. Gonnella is excited to share the news of her full service residential and commercial real estate company.

Burrell Class of 2026 members recently participated in Match Day where 165 students received their residency matches, a 99 percent placement rate.
Scott Plapp, owner of Plapp Insurance Services Inc., an independent firm that specializes in a range of commercial insurances for businesses, including parametric rain and hurricane insurance talks about the many product lines available through his agency. Parametric insurance is a faster, simpler way for businesses to protect against natural disasters, such as wind speed during a hurricane. Plapp has worked in the insurance agency industry for four decades.
Marifer Sagastume is the managing director for the startup community at Groundswell Startups in Melbourne, a coworking and incubator/accelerator entity that is celebrating its 10th year. Ruchir Gupta is Groundswell’s industrial designer and leads the prototype lab. In 2025, companies supported by Groundswell generated more than $50 million in revenue and created over 250 jobs across five businesses.

The May 18, 2026 issue of BBN is full of interesting interviews and news. Available online, in your mailbox and around town this week’s paper begins with a feature about Meeta Gandhi, the new chief operating officer at Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital. Gandhi says leadership starts with being human — a mindset she has developed over her career. This month, Gandhi is on track to be awarded her doctorate degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Mike Perry is Florida Tech’s executive director of admissions. Florida Tech is enjoying some of its best years as the private school is seeing record enrollment. Perry is a 1988 graduate of Florida Tech, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in aviation management–fight. That same year he was commissioned through Florida Tech’s Army ROTC program. A highly decorated veteran, Perry served 31 years of active duty with the Army and Florida National Guard.
Enie Windle is the founder of The Debutantes & Gentlemen of Distinction of South Brevard, a nonprofit entity that conducts a program focused on developing leadership, confidence, etiquette, and community service among outstanding students from across Brevard. The program culminates with the Grand Ball, where the Debs & Gents are recognized in a fun environment with their family and friends.
