Doing our part to spread the word… 😊

There are rumors circulating that starting November 1, the City of Memphis will close Riverside Drive from 10 PM to 6 AM seven days a week. Please let us squash these rumors before they spread too far. Let us be clear, The Downtown Neighborhood Association has NOT been contacted by the city or our friends at MPD regarding any type of proposed street closures. Time after time, when attempted closures dragged on for months, we have polled the community and the majority always have supported Riverside Drive remaining open. It serves as a major thoroughfare for traffic traveling north and south to the interstates / bridges. It also connects the Downtown core to the major interstates on the north and south ends and serves as the only street access to the newly renovated Tom Lee Park.

We will stay alert & aware and diligent to ensure that this historic roadway remains open for all to enjoy and use.
