Probably my favorite subject to shoot, COWS! I rolled by Liberty Hill Farm in Rochester this afternoon on the way to a photoshoot but the fields were empty. Luckily when I was done my friends were out grazing. Notice the boulder painted in cow colors.

Loonapalooza 2026! Chittenden Reservoir 8-2-26
It's somewhat rare to see loons in a group of six just hanging out. It's been said that they are anti-social and only spend time in pairs. I've seen this just twice before in five summers photographing loons.

Field Of Dreams...
Well up again before the roosters so I returned to Creek Rd in Clarendon Vt. Amazing how just one second can make a difference with sunrises and sunsets. Killington Peak is just to the right of the sunburst.

Most days I don't wake up at 4:45am but when I do I grab a coffee and hit the road, into the twilight I go. I headed down Creek Rd into Clarendon for this sunrise across a corn field and then into Tinmouth for a pleasant morning farmland scene.

As I drove home from Lake Placid last evening I was hoping to catch the sunset at this location, just south of Westport. I drove by earlier in the day and the hay bales grabbed my attention which lead perfectly into the sunset. Sometimes timing works out in photography and sometimes you wait patiently and get zero.

Here's what you missed in lake Placid over the holiday weekend, a day in 30 seconds. Pretty comical watching the boaters that look like water bugs skipping on the lake.
