Today, we're excited to introduce Deanna Knight! 💙

Deanna is a Workforce Development Training Specialist with Goodwill's Menominee Workforce Development team. After spending 10 years teaching middle and high school English, she transitioned into workforce development, where she has dedicated the past two years to helping students and adults with disabilities build job skills, confidence, and independence.

By combining her passion for education with hands-on job coaching, Deanna helps individuals discover their strengths, achieve new goals, and gain the confidence to become more active and engaged members of their communities. Watching her clients grow and celebrate their successes is the most rewarding part of her work.

When she's not working, Deanna enjoys curling up with a good book, spending time with her Sheepadoodle: Rosetta, and her cat: Piper, playing Disney Lorcana with friends, camping, writing, and attending her monthly book club. She believes in the power of stories to inspire, connect, and encourage others, both in and out of the workplace.

Today, we're excited to introduce Sonja! 💙

Sonja is a Workforce Development Training Specialist with Goodwill, where she helps individuals build confidence, develop workplace skills, and prepare for meaningful employment and greater independence.

Before joining Goodwill, Sonja spent nearly 10 years in manufacturing, gaining valuable experience in teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and the importance of a strong work ethic. That firsthand knowledge allows her to better prepare the individuals she works with by teaching the real-world skills and workplace expectations employers are looking for.

One of Sonja's favorite parts of her job is watching someone discover their confidence and accomplish something they never thought they could do. She enjoys building relationships with local businesses, creating opportunities for hands-on learning, and helping individuals recognize the strengths they already possess.

For Sonja, the greatest reward is knowing she's making a positive impact in someone's life while helping them achieve greater independence and success. Her dedication to empowering others reflects the heart of Goodwill's mission, and we're grateful to have her on our team.

Today, we're excited to introduce Dustee Howarth! 💙

Dustee is a Workforce Development Training Specialist with Goodwill, where she has the privilege of working alongside students and individuals throughout our community, helping them build job skills, confidence, and independence through meaningful, real-world work experiences.

What Dustee loves most about her role is watching people grow. Whether it's seeing someone gain confidence, master a new skill, or accomplish something they once thought they couldn't, those moments are what make her job so rewarding. Every day brings new challenges, new successes, and countless reasons to celebrate.

For Dustee, Goodwill is so much more than a thrift store, it's an organization that changes lives. She is proud to be part of a team that believes in the potential of every individual and works to create opportunities that make a lasting impact on our community.

A huge THANK YOU to North Shore Church for opening their doors to our Workforce Development Program and giving Chase the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain valuable hands-on work experience!

Chase has been working hard alongside their team, building his skills, confidence, and independence while learning what it means to be part of a workplace. We are so grateful for the patience, encouragement, and support North Shore Church has shown him throughout this experience.

These partnerships are about so much more than completing a job, they give our students the opportunity to discover what they’re capable of and build skills they can carry into their futures. 💪

📚💙 It's our students' last week at Spies Public Library! 💙📚

As our summer work experience program comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate an incredible partnership and say a heartfelt THANK YOU to the amazing team at Spies Public Library for welcoming our students with open arms all summer long.

Over the past several weeks, our students have gained so much more than work experience. They've built confidence, learned valuable workplace skills, discovered new interests, and experienced what it's like to be part of a supportive team. From shelving books and organizing materials to preparing children's programs, assisting with special events, and helping behind the scenes, every day brought new opportunities to learn and grow.

As this marks their final week at the library, we're so proud of everything they've accomplished and grateful for the patience, encouragement, and mentorship the library staff has shown each and every student.

Community partnerships like this are at the heart of what we do. Together, we're helping students build skills, gain confidence, and prepare for bright futures.

As our Goodwill Summer Workforce Development Program comes to a close, we're excited to continue highlighting the incredible staff members who have made such a meaningful impact on our students this summer. 💙

Today, we're introducing Valerie DeCamp! 👋

Valerie wears many hats, she is a Science Teacher at Stephenson High School, Scoutmaster, wife, and mother. Having grown up in this area, she's always been passionate about giving back to the community that helped shape her.

This summer marked Valerie's first with Goodwill Industries, and she has truly enjoyed being part of our Workforce Development team. She believes that through consistent effort, each of us can make our corner of the world a better place, a philosophy she brings with her every day.

What drew Valerie to Goodwill was our mission of creating opportunities for individuals who need a helping hand. She finds both honor and fulfillment in working alongside our students, helping them build the skills, confidence, and experience they'll need as they prepare for future employment opportunities.

We're incredibly grateful for Valerie's dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving our community. Thank you, Valerie, for making such a positive difference in the lives of our students this summer! 💙👏

✨ Meet the Staff! ✨

As our Goodwill Summer Workforce Development Program begins to wind down, we're excited to introduce the amazing staff members who have helped make this summer such a success. 💙

Today, we're introducing Madison! 👋

This is Madison's first year with Goodwill's Summer Workforce Development Program, and she has loved every minute of it! From meeting incredible students to helping them build valuable job skills and confidence, it's been a rewarding summer filled with growth, learning, and new experiences.

When she's not at work, you'll most likely find Madison curled up on the couch with a good book. 📚 She also loves spending time camping with her family and friends, where her little girl enjoys making new friends at the campground.

Madison is also a proud cat mom to three furry companions: Lilly, Alchemy, and Asher! 🐱 While Alchemy is always ready to cuddle, Lilly and Asher prefer to ask for attention on their own terms.

During the school year, Madison works as a full-time substitute teacher, continuing her passion for helping young people learn and grow. Whether she's in the classroom or coaching students in our summer program, she's dedicated to encouraging confidence, independence, and success.

As we wrap up another incredible summer, we're so grateful for team members like Madison, whose compassion, patience, and enthusiasm have made a lasting impact on our students.

The Menominee Heritage Museum has been keeping our Summer Work Program participants busy, and they have been doing an incredible job!

From watering plants and hanging signs to cleaning display cases and organizing the research center, these gentlemen have been working hard while learning valuable job skills along the way. Every task is an opportunity to build confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and independence.

We are so proud of the dedication they’ve shown this summer, and we’re grateful to the Menominee Heritage Museum for providing such a welcoming place for our participants to learn and grow.

Keep up the great work, gentlemen! We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings.
