The SCP Family
So Called began as just two musically talented dudes, Dillon Carlson and Brandon Berg, wanting to kick off a few shows here and there in the small town of Menomonie, WI, which is largely known for being home to University of Wisconsin - Stout and their Blue Devils. After setting the tone with a few events thanks to Abbey Schmalling, owner of one of Menomonie’s best gems The Abbey Pub & Grub, ideas and possibilities overflowed with stepping up a growing music scene in the small town and providing the opportunities for young musicians and artists to have a platform for exposure.
In the fall of 2018, these possibilities and ideas became a reality and from there So Called was no longer just two musically talented dudes with their own project, but instead a family of diverse musicians and those who love music who found a new place to enjoy this wave of culture.
SCP is the organizational hub of curating events with musicians spanning across the Midwest, and has already seen success in bringing artists and producers to the forefront and providing not only much earned exposure but also a friendly, upbeat, and refreshing environment that Menomonie has not yet seen. From the weekend events to larger productions such as the first Abbeypalooza (debuting in 2019) and others tailored to graduation and homecoming with Stout, SCP has already made large steps in improving stage and sound production as well as recruiting larger names into the scene.
The SCP Family continues to push these boundaries of sound and art with a full schedule of events for the Spring of 2019 and plans in the works for the future beyond. Stay with us as we grow a community of music and art like Menomonie has never seen before.
