Trust in bosses is dropping everywhere, and the numbers are stark.
A new Edelman study of 10,000 employees across 10 markets found trust in CEOs fell from 70 to 66 percent, trust in direct managers from 79 to 72, and even trust in coworkers from 82 to 73.
The part that should worry every leader: when a workplace transformation went well, 82 percent trusted the CEO. When it went badly, only 49 percent did.
Same change. Different leadership. Completely different trust.
For the Valley, this lands in schools, county agencies, and every workplace running a reorg. Trust is not morale. Trust is infrastructure.
When was the last time a change at your workplace was led well? What did that leader do differently?
